The hitting problems are because they keep swinging for the fences. We have like 8 men left on base today and everytime we get men on people want the homerun. Base hits with runners in scoring position would be just as good as a homerun to me. Sure you get an extra run if you hit a homer, but a single brings in runs and keeps a runner on base so the pitcher has to throw from the stretch. Nothing is more annoying then having runners in scoring position with two outs and watch the batter strikeout because he just pulled his head, dropped his shoulder and swung for the fences. I think the team is playing well but if they can quit swinging so hard we might put more runs on the board.
