Now that's the Lange of last year. Great job. Fought through another strange night of unexplainable plays. Just think how dangerous we could be playing sound fundamental baseball in every phase.

If CPM doesn't stand up for Romero and fight this or have Joe inquire into it then he clearly doesn't give a shite about the players

Not sure if it's worth the effort but CPM needs to be burning up the phones with the SEC to appeal the suspension.

Don't disagree on the lowering of the shoulder but he avoided contact body to body. I'm not sure by blocking the base path the Ole Miss catcher left him other options. If he had gone in straight body to body I'd agree but he went the only route available. A slide would have come up far short of the base and caused even move "contact".
Looking at the side by side gif's of the two plays, the main difference is Romero left a lane for the runner to the plate, the Ole Miss catcher blocked the path.
No doubt there are rose colored glasses involved but I don't agree with the suspension, ejection or the out call considering the previous day ruling.

The call Thursday night was bad. The OM guy could easily have slid into the lane left by Romero, but instead he initiated contact. I think, according to the stupid rule, the out call was probably right last night. However, there is no way that it should have been ruled malicious and resulted in a suspension.
The rule is dumb.
JMHO also.
