It's very hard to steal third and Mainieri put the hit and run on hoping/thinking Micah would get contact to avoid the double play and get Dean to third and Hanover home if it ended up a base hit.

Hanover is bad at hit and run etc. He got picked off on 2nd to end a game.

Not necessarily a hit and run because there was only 1 out. It's usually a high probability that the ball is put in play with that count and it's an attempt to stay out of the double play. Saying that it was a hit and run isn't accurate because it involves hitting the ball to a certain part of the field. That wasn't the case for Gibbs in that at bat.

You're a moron because it wasnt a straight steal and Gibbs missed a pitch pretty much right over the plate. It was not a double steal attempt...the runners were sent on a 3-2 count...which is basically a hit and run. But it's "moronic" to say it was a baserunning mistake but not fault Gibbs for striking out. PM was counting on Gibbs to make contact.
