He's looked great so far this year

Gausman wasn't his best, but he was still throwing strikes and had a low pitch count. Im pretty sure PM wanted him to hit 90 pitches. That has been his MO early in the season since he got here. It's not all about that, but at this point in the season, that is good enough reason to let him keep going.
What constitutes a rally? back to back hits in that situation. He got the 2nd guy out them Joey came in. Big deal.
