OK, that's right.
Runner on 2nd, no outs...
Bertuccini is headed to the pen...
Swing and a miss, 0-1...
Foul, 0-2...
Groundout to Hanover on a close play, runner to 3rd, 1 out...

Baserunning has been questionable to say the least.

Well, that's not true. There is a big difference between having a guy at 2nd with 1 out and 3rd with 1 out. But that's not a situation where you generally attempt to steal unless the guy is just getting a huge lead at 2nd.
It's just way too risky. Why do it? There's no reason, a hit gets you home either way. You have the SF part of it but the chance of just getting thrown out is much greater than stealing then getting the SF. It was just being too greedy. He got a single which got turned into 2 bags with the wild pitch. Take it and wait for a hit. He would of went over to 3rd annyways after the long flyout...but the SF opp. would be gone.

Sacrifice fly or any ground ball to the middle of the infield will generally score the run. That's the difference between having a guy on 3rd w/ 1 out and 2nd w/ 1 out. That's basic baseball.
Having said that, I agree with you that we shouldn't have attempted a steal there with the top of our lineup at bat. But, your statement that there is no reason and that there is no difference is incorrect.

I didn't say that. I never said the absolutes you just used.
