The quality of a "team" is measured by the entire team, not just the starters. Having said that, Vandy's starters are not better than ours. But to illustrate the point, Vandy had to use 5 or 6 pitchers in the game to try and keep it close. Because of the good game Byrd pitched (who has not been used much this year), we only needed one other pitcher to finish the game.

What about sending them to the Ole miss regional? THat's close enough to Baton Rouge as far as geography is concerned.

Not the same. No travel expenses playing at LSU.

I'm not sure how accurate this guy is with his projections, but I think LSU will get the #1 overall seed, IMO

Only argument would be that Tulane finished ahead of USM in the CUSA regular season. But USM has a higher RPI and did better in the conference tourney.

The Conference Tourney was played in Hattiesburg, huge advantage to USM.

USM finished 2nd, Tulane finished 3rd.

Tulane finished the regular season stronger than USM.

It's a tossup on who makes it to the tourney.....

Pretty sure Southern will be here with so much focus on the economy and lack of money. I can only recall one year when Southern was sent to another regional ... Southern Miss. Any others?

i think they played at Ole Miss one time

USM gave Tulane both of their losses in the tourney, which also gave them head to head for the season 3/5
