I guess it depends on the definition of extended time. He's had stretches where he's received multiple starts in a row, which is about all the rope PM allows when a position is truly up for grabs, and he didn't seize the opportunity. He hasn't proven enough to stay in the lineup for 15 games if he isn't getting it done.

It isn't a knock on him. He's one of the most clutch hitters on the team. I think he is a big plus coming off the bench in a late inning pinch role and playing the matchups in a tight game.

Him and a few other players. He gets a lot of credit there but Katz and Gausman were just as crucial
