Harris,

quote:

5. If Brandon Harris keeps playing like this, LSU is going to be hard to beat.

But what caught my eye in the Florida game was LSU quarterback Brandon Harris, who threw for more than 200 yards for the second consecutive game...Harris was 10-of-12 for 189 yards and two TDs in the first half. LSU had a 28-point second quarter that was a thing of beauty. Harris threw a perfect 9-yard touchdown pass in the back of the end zone to Malachi Dupre. He also had passes of 52 and 50 yards to Dupre...The only doubts any of us had about LSU this season was the ability to get something positive out of its quarterback. If Harris keeps playing like this, LSU can beat anybody.

November 7.

quote:

1. The countdown to Nov. 7 has begun.
Both Alabama, a 41-23 winner at Texas A&M, and LSU, a 35-28 winner over Florida, were impressive Saturday. Both will be challenged this Saturday for the reasons we just outlined. But both will be more than double-digit favorites at home. Both are off Oct. 31. Both have big-time running backs. Both have quarterbacks who are not spectacular but are getting the job done.

You see where I’m going here?

Hey, I’m just trying to beat the rush. Because if both teams take care of business on Saturday — and they will — the bandwagon for Nov. 7 is going to get real crowded in a hurry.

His touch is really improving.

I think the next step in our passing game in general is to get some quick short to intermediate routes clicking.

We still don't seem very confident to throw the ball on 3rd and 8 from our own 17, for example.

Brandon Harris is like a rosebud about to bloom. He is ready to take America by storm. Glad he is on our team.

Would really like to see LSU run a zone read play with Harris keeping it and throwing as he draws the DB's up that come up to stop the run.

AlxTgr That's what I meant, obviously don't want to use this against WKU. Was shocked they pulled the flea flicker against Florida, but the timing was perfect and it worked.

Good for us that Bama' defense has given up the most 20+ yard passes in the SEC at 21, 17 of those were against SEC teams.

You mean game of the century II, since (according to voters and all fans of LSU and Alabama) Game of the Century I didn't happen.

I like other coaches thinking that they have no idea what that crazy LSU coach is going to call.

Execution by the OL is the key here, especially if it's an option route. We're starting to see the OL blocking downfield called on passing plays(as it should be). Also there's a wave of support growing amongst coaches(like Saban and Miles) to have the college rule match the NFL rule of the OL having only a 1-yard window to block beyond the line.

We need Nick to be as uptight as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. That'll get him and that former coach of UT all jiggery.
