I agree with the OP. This is not called for in public sporting events. There are little kids in the crowd and watching on TV. Its just a high level of immaturity.

I curse at games and sing the dirty songs. It's death valley. Stop being pussies.

Are you really trying to compare one person to the entire student section? BTW, how big is the student section anyway.

How about "Kick that ['Bama/Rebel/Gator/etc.] arse!" Though the ability to change the cheer from week to week to apply to the current opponent may be beyond the skill set of the fraternity boys leading the chorus.

Then you've got no class. Look, I understand people are going to cuss and holler at the refs/coaches, etc... I could personally care less about someone cussing next to me, but if there are little kids or old ladies around, there's no place for that, drunkeness be damned. And for thousands of students/fans to yell that chant several times over the course of the game is uncalled for and makes us look classless and moronic.

simple,, quit playing it.
I didn't like it without the vulgarity.
And I do like it. People think they have an unqualified right to free speach. You can say what you want, just don't think that there are no consiquences. If you go to a theater and start yelling at the screen and cursing, don't complain when they throw you out or don't allow you to come back. If you cursed during a song the band plays, don't complain when they stop playing it.

Only way to stop it is to not allow students in, but good luck with that.
If only LSU could get rid of those inconvenient students, the games would really be enjoyable. I mean what is this, a university, or a professional football team?

at the end of the day, it doesn't matter. just be glad we aren't as bad as Wisconsin's student body.

If I ran this universe, I'd assign 10 cops to patrol that area and every time the band plays "Neck", they start tossing drunk idiots yelling that chant. You toss about 25 students in the 1st quarter of a big game, and I guarantee that the vulgar chant dies a slow death.

What would be the negatives if you dismantled the student section? Scatter them amongst the non students and most likely you don't get a high enough concentration of students for the chant to be audible.

this isn't a serious suggestion, is it? Never, ever happen, nor should it. However, if it's necessary to have the band stop playing the tune, or have them redo the arrangement so that they play something that overwhelms the chant during those 4 beats, they should.
I have sat in stadiums where there is vulgarity. Hell, I used to have season tickets in Yankee Stadium out near left field, and some of the things people would yell at Manny would make even the most degenerate LSU Deke blush. But never have I heard organized vulgarity of the sort that the LSU students engage in. And I've been at rivalry games everywhere from the Big-10 to the ACC to the Big 12. It is a sign of relative immaturity (relative to students of comparable age at comparable schools) that should be embarrassing for anyone who thinks of LSU as a civilized institution.

Just stop playing it.

It could easily be banned.
The song, sure. But vulgarity not so much. Use your brain.
Easily done. Zero tolerance policy. Loss of ticket rights to all LSU sports and probation. Make an example out of a handful of students over a few games and it will end.

I kind of was. People are saying that the song is not the problem. Students will act like children and be vulgar in other ways. So why not treat them like children as seat then next to adults?

While we are at it we should ban Nick Saban too because of the chant he seems to elicit out of tiger fans.
