So all we have to do to win is get our D up to par with bama, create a dominant running game and not get into 2nd or 3rd and long situations? WOW! What a fricking revelation.

Since the majority of the posts on here bash our Quaterbacks and put all the fricking blame on them, yea...I'd say it was fricking revelation.

Because McElroy doesnt throw TDs to the other team every game or take sacks every time there is any pass rush near him.

You are starting with a flawed premise. Bama did not win with McElroy. They didn't have to. They won with strong defense and a good running game, so they didn't need McElroy to play all that great to win games. Our problem is that our whole team has deteriorated so badly that we can no longer mask or compensate for a weakness at QB by winning in other ways, so if he can't win it for us, we don't win.

How could you see them play and think that? Not flaming like some of these dillweeds over a difference of opinion but our two qb's aren't even SEC caliber and that kid just won a title.

Our problem has been that not only has our QB play been inconsistent, the offensive philosophy and play calling has been terrible the last two years.
We need to scrap the spread and run a pro style offense that focuses on the run and passes the ball off of play action.
Then play hard nose defense. This is what Alabama does and they are successful at it. They don't spread you out, they wear you down.

If LSU becomes proficient on Defense and establishes a solid running game, we should be able to win with either of these QB's provided they are not put in positions (i.e. 2nd or 3rd and long situations) to make critical mistakes.

Also McElroy was not forced to play QB too early. He started in his 4th year, JJ started his 1st year while JL started his 2nd year.

The leadership and consistency is whats missing and if they dont have it by now, I doubt they ever will.
