To me it doesn't matter what Bama does against UF. They way LSU played against Oregon, which was the 3rd ranked team, at the beginning of the season they should remain at the top until both teams meet in Nov.

LSU really made a statement that game and even though Bama has had good games of their own, none of their wins stand out as much as LSU's win over Oregon.

Personally I hope they beat Fla. Because, assuming we beat FU, it'll be #1 vs #2 in Tuscaloser. Gonna be the battle of the century.

This. No matter what school you pull for, you should always want your opponent to have as many wins as possible.

Why? We beat #3 ranked Oregon at the time and currently #9 and now #22 ranked West Virginia. Florida is currently ranked #12 so Bama is expected to beat them. We were ranked #4 when we played Oregon and many picked the quacks to beat us.

uh... who do we play next week?

Still 1 vs 2 at BAMA would be ideal.

Schedule wise..

1. LSU
2. Alabama
3. Oklahoma.

No way come November if LSU and Bama are undefeated they don't do a #1 vs #2 matchup

Doesn't really matter

Actually it does. If Fla wins we get a fair game called when we play. If not another repeat of the 09 game and a bunch of no calls against Ala and couldn't overturn ruling on field because the replay official is an Ala graduate and doen't know how to turn on HD for the replay.

Depends on the score and manner of victory.

unless it's an extremely poorly played game, i would vote bama #1 if they win. it really doesn't friggin' matter as long as LSU wins. we still play both florida and alabama and the damn polls will take care of themselves. i will bet my house that if we are undefeated on november 6th, we are #1. that will be what will get me excited.

But, if we pull for Florida, then we are pulling for our opponent (Alabama) to have a loss...

Bet they beat each other up real good, but also look for Bama to come out on top.

This. Plus I think if we continue to win and drop from the #1 spot, it's just going to motivate our players to work even harder and beat teams by even more.

Until strong college football teams play one another. It is very unlikely that anyone can tell just how good their favorite team is. Whether it is USC, Ole Miss, Clemson. Alabama, Oklahoma, LSU. The AP or Coaches Top 10 Polls are not the magic reflection people think they are. Playing against a less advanced football team only tell you that you are better then them. Not that you are going to beat another strong team. Only the game itself does that.
The AP & coaches Top 10 Poll are not a very real picture of who is the best team until the end of the college football season.

First off..

LSU is ranked #2 NOT #1.

Bama played Arkansas at home and will play Fla on the road. IF Fla loses then expect them to fall around where WV is ranked. LSU played Oregon in Dallas and Oregon is a much better team than Arkansas is. Miss State and Penn St are probably even and both were away games.

LSU and Bama should be #1 and #2 based on schedule. However lets remember that OKLAHOMA is #1. The AP poll doesnt mean shite.

Agree, hence the "as many wins as possible" instead of "undefeated."

You pull for Fla for the simple fact that Bama is in the SEC West. No telling how the season plays out you still want the best opportunity to win the SEC West as the first priority.
