That's my point exactly. That is the first thing that went through my mind on the first interception. You're up 17-7. You don't need to make that throw. I'm not saying that we don't need to improve on the run game but if Nuss hits those passes he usually hits and takes care of the ball and we make a couple of those FG we still could have won the game. He will have some bad games much like JD did his first year. He just didn't force balls and took sacks but was an exceptional runner. Hopefully Nuss learns from this game because this one is mostly on him.

People remember the last drive of the Ole Miss game but fail to recognize that he played a really poor game that game too.

he was 6 for 12 on that drive (plus the OT pass)

which again is a case of when you do something being every bit as important as what you do.

It has everything to do with defenses crashing the box! We’re 2 dimensional when we would be 3 with a dual threat QB. It’s literally what A&M did to us.

Then you beat them in the air. Teams with non running quarterbacks run the ball all the time.

Bad is an understatement… BUT

I can’t totally rail on him, our offense is nothing without him. Guy needs help from the run game/run blocking.

Staying cool under fire is hard to teach. He’s got the physical tools obviously. Hopefully more playing time will steel his nerves a bit but for now he has to be protected. And for gods sakes tuck it and run more.

Daniels had the opposite problem his first year and he made adjustments for the next.

IF anyone qb has to throw 50 times they are going to have some mistakes. He panicked on first one. Lacy in slot got pushed to sideline and let his guy be in position to cover flat for int on the second one. The third was his fault but good defense as well. Dont forgot about the 4-5 drops the wr's had as well.

Nuss said after the Ole Miss game that he should've checked it down more. I thought he learned from that game and was happy to hear him make that statement. However, it must've been all talk because he pressed on a lot of deeper throws, oftentimes completely overlooking the easy checkdown that would've kept the chains moving. The play-calling was horrible as well.

The defense is still bad. Players are always displaying bad habits. The ends never contain or set the edge. They always rush much too far pass the QB allowing him to easily evade pressure. Also, the edge rushers and LB's are always out of control when rushing, which negates the fact they beat their man or got to the QB untouched because they fall all over the place and slide down without getting the sack. Opposing WR's typically catch the ball wide-open and nobody for LSU can consistently tackle in the open-field. There's so many constant issues with this team that it's just too many to list.

He’s had several

This is the first one he lost and he is the primary person to blame

He’s not a good QB. His ridiculous decision making more than cancels out whatever talent he has

It's really as simple as that. Nuss missed so many open receivers when running that he usually hits. He made some bad reads and forced the ball when he had dump offs to RB.

Nuss had a bad result and a lot of the credit goes to Elko/aTm. They played much better pass coverage than teams we have played to date and they did so because they can pressure the QB with 4 rushers and 7 in coverage. Nuss did himself no favor in failing to run the ball a few times.
