The new big 12 will be a basketball juggernaut. LSU isn't an upgrade for him.
The SEC will still have double the athletic budget.

In defense of McMahon, his last year at Murray they went 31-3, and they made progress in the big dance. He then started 12-1 with us with a win against then top-10 Arkansas.
So at that point Mac was 43-4 over the prior eighteen months, but then the bottom fell out. Last year our guard play was awful; this year it's the posts that are weak.
But I don't personally think it's fair to say he straight up can't coach. Dude literally inherited a team with no players.

Lsu gave McMahon a big contract he’s not going anywhere live with what we have !
Then LSU must give men's basketball whatever it takes to help him succeed until they either win or the buyout is something they can live with.

I know the Wade frick boys don’t want to hear this but the facts are Wade fricked this program up. So the 15 or so of them can stick their lame “fat Scott” and “McLoser” etc. up their asses.
Is McMahon the long term answer? I don’t know but I do know this. His first recruiting class out from under the specter of sanctions is looking damn good.
2024-25 will be Matt McMahon’s first season on the clock. Them’s the facts and you Wade frick boys better get used to it. And your hero is to blame for that.

Now that sanctions are clear. Woody and his checkbook will target whales after next year if McM doesn’t show significant improvement. But not one day before

I used to date a girl who now works for Brinks. I'll give her a call.
