While I appreciate the astute observations in the initial post, I think it's waaaaaaaay too early to start assessing where the program is. We know that already. It's really more about where this particular team is. After only 5 games, I don't think we know that either. All we know is that we lost to a great team at their home, in a game that they absolutely needed to win........................not to mention they wanted revenge and they had bulletin board material. If we play them again in the SEC championshp game, I doubt we'd get so lopsided a result...................if we lost at all.

Agreed. And you're right, I should have said (and really meant) "My take on where this team is" ... I guess I thought inserting "program" would get more reads, lol, as it's a little more eye-catching.

This whole "take" piece is well done. I find it helpful to read something favorable toward LSU that doesn't use "f'ing LSU is great!" as its sole premise. Your take is reality-based, and I'm glad to read it.
For those who can't focus their short attention spans to complete the reading, I'm sad.

You're wrong about that. We do need to blitz more. And how many did we bring? 5. Come on man. We never blitz and it killed us all night against florida. We sat back with the field spread out just like they wanted us to.
Did you ever think that they gameplaned to take away the blitz? Did you happen to notice that many times florida's OLINE lined up with 3 and 4 foot splits to spread our d-line out and give tebow extra time. If you blitz in that situation he just has more time to throw it to the hot route.

take a deep breath, you must feel really better after getting all that off your chest.

Lol, honestly, I felt A TON better after me and my 3 friends had a 10-hour therapy session in the car on the drive home from Gainesville on Sunday. We analyzed, over-analyzed, got mad at LSU and each other, got sad, laughed, got happy again, did it all over again and basically went through every emotion conceivable, analyzed not only ourselves but even Ole Miss' and Oklahoma State's schedule, it was THAT bad ... I think I've gotten it all of my chest now. I've been through the seven stages of recovery since Saturday night, lol.

lol, yeah, you can find it in Barnes and Noble mid January after we whip Penn State in the Cap1 bowl.
Penn St. will play in the NC game at the end of the season. They are the best in the shitty Big 10.

Good post except for your belief that all will be well if we "tweak" the defense. That better be the biggest f##king tweak ever recorded. I am talking Guinness tweak.

I don't buy the young and inexperienced bullcrap. Look at Alabama, talk about young and inexperienced, but kicking everybody's arse! Young does not mean incapable.

I'm not claiming anyone is incapable ... only young and therefore bound to screw up along the way. And Alabama didn't kick Kentucky or Tulane's arse by any stretch of the imagination ... not to mention they're certainly not young at the most important position: QB.

It's funny how fans only really have a problem with a coach when they are on the losing end.

You should know Gator. My family lives in Gainesville and my sister gripes about Urban Meyer constantly.
