When we bought our vehicle out of state last year, we flew in to the city and drove it home.
I guess we aren’t baller enough to have it shipped.

There was no damage to vehicle, poster is embellishing the story for attention. Driver tore his truck up is what happened

it would have been cheaper to ship than to drive and such

Well...until now.
Because it sounds like the cheaper one you found is wrecked.
What was the price difference between one in driving distance, and the now wrecked one from 900 miles away?

Sounds like you need to call the dealership in the morning and tell them to come pickup their vehicle then.
Or they need to renegotiate the purchase price and take enough off the price to make it worth your while to accept in the condition it was delivered in, while also factoring in the diminished value for future resale or trade-in due to having previously repaired damage.

So the rear wheels came off the ground and the truck and trailer just started sliding
Yes, once the Yukon was behind the wheels of the trailer it put upward pressure on the hitch. This caused the rear wheels (parking brake) to lift off the pavement. From there the vehicle was free rolling on the front wheels, and the loaded trailer.

What damage was done to the Yukon
As far as we can tell, the power steps were damaged, the left front wheel, and the rear bumper. We are swapping wheels so that's a non issue but suspension is a concern. It took 4 hours to clear the vehicle and we haven't done a complete walkthrough.

Why did you accept the keys
Alabama law states that the delivery can be placed on property but that is not an acceptance of delivery in the condition that was purchased. I e signed paperwork in order for delivery to take place so it was technically my vehicle when this happened.

Did you contact the seller?
Yes, I contacted them, sent pictures, told them there was damage, they are saying it is the responsibility of the transporter, which I agree with but it should be their problem to handle not mine.

No need to talk about his wife

Hell of a story. It looked like it was at least on a trailer, right? It wasn’t “In Tow”?

This is where I am. If the suspension checks out the only thing I care about is the rear bumper that was cracked, if that is handled and all checks out I'm good.

It was on a trailer. Where I took this picture I'm standing where the trailer was parked when it started sliding.

Ok that makes more sense than "sliding"

Still an issue because those wheels are worth something and that something is less now that one is damaged. Probably at least $300 for one wheel.

I think you made a big mistake here

This sounds like it's going to be a nightmare for you. You really shouldn't have signed anything. Sorry for your troubles man that really sucks. Good luck

The deal in place currently is that I agree to purchase it as is, as it was before it left the dealer. I still have their trade sitting in my driveway. I have the physical papers unsigned on my desk.
I think I'm still in a good position.
No one is delivering a vehicle 900 miles to my house without some sort of agreement. The agreement is now currently void.

you think they're gonna ship a vehicle without him doing the paperwork first?
He said that he signed delivery paperwork AFTER this incident occurred.

How would he sign paperwork for the delivery to take place after the delivery was made?
Sure you sign stuff upon receipt, but you are at the very least E-signing documents before it ever leaves the lot

Ah ok then you should be fine. Still a pita though

Loading or unloading my tractor onto the trailer caused the rear end of my Tacoma to lift up almost off the ground.
After first time I put a jack stand under the rear of the trailer to stop it from doing that.
I’m sure when he loaded the Yukon onto the trailer the rear end of his truck was lifted off the ground same as when he unloaded it.
Too bad he didn’t have enough sense to realize he needed to put something under the rear of the trailer to prevent that.

You didn't try to negotiate the shipping into the deal?
