Why are y’all mad at Alleva? Austin obviously wanted to work for his home school.

When a guy wants to go back home there is no amount of money to keep him away. Wish him luck LSU will be fine and the next man up mentality will work like a champ. Trust in O and his judgements since he is the top Recruiter in the Country.

I mean I completely disagree but perhaps the amount it would take to keep him was too much for LSU

Everyone melting needs to look at a few things, beyond the fact that he's from Tennessee, got his masters from UT Knoxville, has family involved in the UT system and is from a town about 2.5 hours from Knoxville.

UT is a better spot than LSU to get him to an NFL front office. There are no prominent LSU boosters that own NFL teams as far as I know. If he does as good of a job at UT as he did at LSU, I expect him to get a decent NFL job within a few years. It might not be with the Browns, but Haslam will give him good recommendations with other organizations.

LSU offered more money, but Austin wanted to go back home to where all of his family is. Definitely gonna be a hit to recruiting, but can't blame him. Clearly doing what he loves. Hopefully we can get someone else close to as good as he was in his position moving forward.

I'm all for Alleva being given the boot, BUT this ultimately was down to AT wanting to go back home. He was offered a bonus, but declined and decided to head back to his home state. You would think LSU fans would understand and respect this decision with how we preach so much of wanting home grown talent to stay or return home. It sucks, but it is what it is.

LSU fans expect:

undefeated season, NC, retain the entire staff, players all stay, get the number 1 recruiting class in the country...

Y’all set yourselves up for disappointment every year. It’s college football, high value assets move around a lot. It happens.

The only people still talking about Ponamsky period are on this board. He’s the most talked about gopher on planet earth.

Of course. But are we not allowed to be disappointed that a big piece of our puzzle is leaving? Of course O may find a great replacement for him. But are we not allowed to discuss this occurrence or express our displeasure with it?
