Spinoff from another thread

He is worth his weight in gold. If you have ever seen moneyball, he is like our version of that guy. He is incredible organizationally, has had high praise from Coach O and Frank Wilson - two of the best in the game.

If you can justify Coach O making 3.5 million, and Alleva making whatever he makes - give Austin Thomas north of 250k, buy him a free house, pay for him to have a maid, give him a company car, and give him an expense card.

Do whatever it takes - you guys will see a major hit on the recruiting trail if he leaves (or when if Joe keeps up his shite). All these diamond in the rough three stars that end up killing it have to do with Austin doing relentless evaluations, plus he was directly responsible from Jacob Phillips and Jacoby Stevens. He is like Nick Saban when it comes to getting on prospective film tapes and identifying talent ahead of the curve.

Proof of earnings:

Who's feathers do we need to ruffle to finally run Joe Allevas arse out of town?

Has any administrator had a lower support rating for this long without getting the ax?

Tennessee's crazy fanbase can veto coaching hires mid swing and we cant seem to runoff our incompetent AD.

We need to do something before he botches keeping Austin Thomas and Will Wade. Both will go to greener pastures if Alleva pulls an Alleva, which he will at some point.

I’ve seen the AT hype for a while now, but can’t put my finger on the results. Not bashing him...would really like to know

Is your ambiguity supposed to be cute???

Or do you just like to stir the pot without delineating?

Read this

among other things, he actually negotiates our assistant coaches contracts.

He is extremely loyal to Coach O. His next move from LSU is probably NFL. Not sure he's money motivated. More than likely it will be a promotion of title that lures him away.

I get his role. I guess I need a bit more time to crown him the next Larry Porter/Frank Wilson, but organized. Seems like a motivated guy with great potential for things bigger than LSU Football. I agree that $125K is too cheap. I don't think he's making or breaking LSU football.

Assuming Thomas weighs about 175 lbs, he’d be worth a little north of $3.2 million.

But frick it we’re paying Orgeron more than that and Thomas might be a better recruiter than him

ETA: I know OP was using the idiom, but I just wanted to see what he WOULD be worth in gold.

Well done.

If you heard everything Miles, O and Wilson said about him - I stand by my original statement. In the scheme of things, he is our best shot against a Bama shadow staff. He is our secret weapon. The fact that most of the fan base has no idea how great he is - is a good thing.

If the rest of the world knew what he was worth, they would outbid Alleva for him in a heartbeat.

Boosters know and he's being compensated in other ways. A raise is in the works.

I agree. I remember last year him playing a huge role in closing some big recruits near the deadline. We definitely need to do whatever it takes to keep him here. I think it was Jacob Phillips that he helped reel in/flip from OU. Think they played X-box and stuff.

ETA: Just saw all the posts above me. TLDR: AT is the man.
