Ross was terrific tonight and has been very good the last month. The tigers seem to be putting it all together now. Ott still needs to get sharper though.

He was over 110 pitches. He probably wouldn't have even come out for the 9th but I think Mainieri just wanted him to get the ovation he deserved.

i think PM had it set in his mind to let him go until a runner reached base
unfortunately it was the first batter on a piss ant hit

It would either be this or Ole Piss last year at the Box. I believe in that game he went 8 innings with 2 or 3 hits..

Kudos to Austin Ross! He's the man tonight! Earned a day off for the team. Not sure if I want them to cool off for a day, but it's always nice to sit by and watch teams get eliminated.

Ross is king. It's great having 2 ARs, when a month ago people didn't think we had any.

first time ive ever really thought pulling him was wrong boy showed up!
I agree that Austin Ross could have finished the game. Coach Mainieri did a positive thing by pulling him, though. Matty Ott came in and closed the game. He didn't look as sharp as he's looked in the past, but he looked better than he's looked lately. He now has this close behind him. He should get some confidence from this. Renaudo has confidence in himself again, when Ott reaches this point, look out!
