Letting their starter go 86 pitches vs LSU in a not meaningful match (for them) and now the guy is out of the game in the 2nd with 5 earned runs vs Milwaukee.

I mean that game against us was over a week ago. Anderson threw 84 pitches in the SEC Tournament and was just fine a week later.

If he walked five guys to start the game people would say he was rusty and should have pitxhed a normal week. 86 pitches isnt nothing crazy.

86 isn’t much. Maybe the issue is the opposite - 9 days rest, 2 more than normal.
