JT Barrett gets to play against Illinois, Northwestern, Indiana, and a bunch of crap.
LSU scored the most points Wisconsin allowed in a game all season.

If you can just hang on until 2017 (assuming no one leaves early and they shouldn't) we should have a good chance at another 3000yd passer, (2) 1000 yd WRs, and a 1000 yd RB in Harris, Quinn, Dupree, and Fournette.

Rebuilding takes years and success doesn't happen in college football unless you have upperclassmen. Les is the winningest coach in the SEC and deserves the chance to right the ship. He has proven he can do it in the past and if you so called "fans" can temper your expectations for the next two seasons I think we have a good shot at making the playoffs in 2017.

Les Miles' offense would have trouble scoring at a whorehouse.

For me it's all about CLM trusting the quarterback, I don't know when that will be, because when he didn't trust METT to make a play at home to seal the deal against Bama I dont know who will he trust at the position again.

Mett was on fire that game and yet CLM took the ball out of Mett's hand, gave it to Spencer Ware in the wildcat and got stuffed. So doesn't matter what Jennings or Harris does, does anyone think when the game is on the line, Les will put it in the hands of whomever is quarterback and have them MAKE a play to seal the deal or just settle for the field goal and rely on the defense to make a play.

I use to make this point, but it's dumb.

Nick Marshall a corner can put up 30+ on Bama, then JT Barrett could put up points in the SEC on the regular.

No, it's not dumb at all. Being productive against really good defenses is tougher than doing so against bad defenses.

Exactly a huge part of the problem. He is sooo afraid of the QB to make a mistake.. but great teams put full trust in their qb to overcome mistakes.

Look at Winston throwing 3 or 4 ints against Florida.. but they still allowed him to be Winston and hit his Tight End in the endzone when it mattered most. You have to trust your more talented guy and put all your trust him in. Not have him walking on egg shells. Harris is the more talented guy, but he's always going to have the wrong he has to be perfect mentality/short lease.. I truly hope he is given the full keys next season, because he can and will be something special.

Hhuote]Again, last years offense was good but not even the best in the SEC west[/quote]

Lsu was in the top 10 in the entire country in yards per play, points per play and 1st in the country in 3rd down efficiency. we were in tHe top 3 of the sec in these.

Because in 2006, 2007, 2009 (jj had a better passer rating than Flynn in 07), 2011,&2013 our offense was fine.

think that this is AJ's fault? Nupe. This coach has had too much time to recruit/develop. He's not an SEC coach anymore. It's possible to lose your touch.....or sense of reality.

Holy frick. We just set an sec offensive record last year.

Then maybe LSU needs to run a different offense to enable our QBs to be that productive

Yeah, if we went read option, I'm sure Jennings could run for 800 yards and a few TDs on top of 1500 yards passing and 10 or so TDs. That's what Marshall did in the regular season last year. Marshall had exactly 12 passing TDs 5 ints in his first 12 games. He had exactly 1759 pass yards in first 12 games last year. He had exactly 228 pass attempts or 19 attempts per game.

I remember posting a topic in the offseason about us running an Auburn type offense. Said we should run about 70% per game. I got roasted for it. Now people are creaming their pants for it.

Marshall's passing numbers were barely better than Jennings, and he was a 4th year junior who started a year at JUCO.

Holy frick we finished third in our division.

9-7 in sec in two years. Again, I wish nick Saban would lower expectations of his players like the rant does of Miles. Then he'd actually not compete for a title every other year.

Doesn't mean it's impossible. HUNH teams use that offense to compensate for lesser talent and inferior defenses. LSUs defense won't suddenly suck just bc the offense scores points.

Yet it is impossible for offense to get better with Cam's pro style right? No amount of good QB play or top rated backs and WRs will do a damn thing huh?

Talk to me when it happens boss. You guys want to win a national championship. That requires a decent defense. You guys want to run a HUNH, that makes defense crap.

quote:

If you think scoring too fast would be a problem, then wait til you see how LSUs defense does when the offense goes 3 and out repeatedly...

So it's run a HUNH offense or be anemic on offense. There is no middle ground for you is there? Our offense in 2013 with this defense, goes undefeated.

Not too proud to admit when I'm wrong. Went back an reread your original post and subsequent posts in this thread. Makes sense. I overreacted based on my frustration with this offense. Good insight and even better forbearance.

Want to see how really bad lsu is with QBs? Watch what Urban is able to get from his 3rd string QB with one week to prepare. Against a top 15 team on a huge stage.

Michigan is not ranked.

Wow. Now i know you dont know shite about football. Was this offense a failure last year when we were top 10 in the country in yards per play and top 10 in points per play.we lack experience at the most important position on offense

You keep bringing up last year in your defense of this coaching staff....LAST YEAR!!! Somehow you leave out the fact that the QB responsible for that offense wasn't within 500 miles of BR on signing day as a freshman. HE was a UGA recruit all the way and ended up in Les' lap after being kicked off the team and spent a year in JUCO. Without him, this school has 6 straight years of a shite show at QB! This is the whole point! This staff's inability to provide stability at QB with a guy that can break 150 yards in a game. Do you not understand this? If MEtt doesn't get kicked out of UGA, LSU has 6 years crap on offense. Can you imagine what last year would look like with the crap on defense? Finishing third last year would have been a pipe dream. You people thinking the QB situation will be better next year are dreaming. I've seen this movie before and I'm pretty sure I know how it ends.

A school as prominent as LSU should not have this much of a problem getting QB talent. Damn pro QBs line up to go to UGA, from out of state, even though they choke every year. What's LSU doing wrong?
