As most of you know, we're trying to set up a second Austin game viewing location at Lavaca Street Bar. We all love Shoal Creek and how well they take care of us, but there simply isn't enough room for ALL of us to watch the games comfortably. If you're a diehard Shoal Creeker, please continue to geaux there and support the Tigers at our primary game viewing location.

For the rest of you, how many can commit to being at Lavaca Street Bar on Saturday for the Auburn game if we guarantee you the game on the big screen with sound in the back room?

awesome - thanks for the thread

any feedback the sooner the better, they really want us there, but we have to show up in force

If you're just a "maybe" - please say so

I'm a weak maybe, but interested to hear more. I hate watching at Shoal Creek and haven't been in years

The Auburn game is just too intense for me. I have to watch it at home.
I wouldn't want to freak anyone out. You know, first impressions and all.

It's not just you.

You're kidding, right? This is close to the worst excuse ever.

You can't make an impression at all if you don't show.

I myself am a screamer and a thrower of objects when I watch. I say get out of the house and help make this thing happen. Should be a blast. We'll have the "back room"... and with sound. I'm pretty sure they allow screaming back there... but not the throwing of things.

LETS DO THIS PEOPLE!

Great Idea - We usually ave a group of 10 - 12 Louisiana folks who get together every game, and would love to have Lavaca as the spot. Have to get too early for Shoal Creek seating and the big screen in Lavaca would be an improvement. (plus the ping pong) I will spread the word.

CTexTiger - I like your enthusiasm. We are definitely doing this. I just want to get a rough head count of people who are definitely coming so we can let Lavaca know. The idea is to get enough people so it's worth it for both us and the bar to make this a regular thing.

jeffrochill - PLEASE bring your 10-12. We want to get as many people as we can.

Austin has a great radio station I listen to ALL the time over the Internet and through my FM home transmitter. You guys seem to have a great music scene there. KGRS 107.1

ok, one thing guys - the damn Horns kick off at 6:00 - we kick off at 6:45

can everyone commit to getting there by 6:00????

they will reserve the back room for us, but it's going to make everything infinitely more smoother if we already have a contingent taking up the tables in the back room.

I'm going to request that they dont even put the UT game on in the back, so as to keep them up front, plus it would piss me off to no end if I was settled in my spot watching the Tigers and someone flipped it at the end of the first.

- and yes, we will have sound

honestly folks, I really need about 30 to 40 solid commits

How many people need to be there by 6? If the room is reserved, why would the Longhorm fans takeover?

Put me down as a maybe---it will be Shoal Creek or Lavaca for me--depends on where some of my fellow LSU buddies are going.

this is the exact problem we have in Austin, and why Shoal Creek is really the only reliable place. Having been resigned to the corner, shitty tv on many occasions, after being promised main tv & audio at bars across austin, Shoal creek at least sticks to their word. And they didn't even do that for the longest time.. It's only now that we basically fill the place up.

We used to have to go to crap places like the Warehouse or that bar at the HOliday INn at 183/Mopac to see/hear games on the main tv's b/c the Horn faithful simply filled up every other good place and the bar caved in. Can't blame them really.

If you want Lavaca, have a huge group of folks and make sure they're committed. Audio included.

Just my .02.

I'll be there with 3 buds. Thanks for doing this. I'm not a Shoal Creek fan. In fact, I went to 3rd Base to watch the N. TX game hoping there would be an LSU crowd. There wasn't. Just me an one other dude.

See you guys at the Lavaca Street Bar.

BTW... can you give an address so that I can pass it along?

I was at Lavaca Street Bar for the USC vs Ohio State game.

I think it will be a great location for the LSU game. I can and will be there.

I have four friends here who are huge LSU fans who might be interested. But I need to know if this is a go for sure. I live downtown, so if the game isn't on the big screen I can walk (probably run) back home in a couple of minutes. I would hate for my friends to drive back to their house and miss some of the game.

How about if it somehow falls through we all walk (possibly run) to your house!

This is on for sure, but come game day if only Stu and I show up, there's a problem. That's why we're asking people to commit. If we really turn out in force, this can become a regular thing. I'll have more details tomorrow night and I'll post them on here. Stay tuned...
