Na you can always second guess pitching changes. He would have not been in that spot if they didn’t have errors. Defense lost this game. Blake was not spectacular but his defense let him down.

I’m fine with how Jay managed other than bringing in Bianco, but I don’t know what else you do other than just riding Gio.

Or you can see it happening beforehand. I was talking about Money’s pitch count from the second inning on. You just can’t throw that many pitches in so few innings. After the Morgan error the score was 2-2 with two runners on base and Money facing a hitter for the third time. Gervais was loose and ready.
Make the move!
Even worse, after the home run he left Money in to give up another run. They 6th run proved to be pretty important.

I get that the defense sucked but there were hits too one of them being a HR. Money should not have been pitching then.

The difference is later you used him for 1/3 of an inning and 3 pitches in a game you trailed but had a chance in, versus committing to a multi inning outing by putting him in the 5th in a tied game or one run game.

0-9 with runners in scoring position is always going to be tough to overcome.
Yep, not gonna win a whole bunch of games with that going on. But, they still put up five runs.

He probably threw 70 pitches today after warming up 3 different times.

Stupid arse bullpen on the field.
Why? Our guys know the terrain; it’s an advantage.
Also I have no idea how that last pitch to Berry got by - his bat looked to be right on it and it sorta clipped through like a Bethesda game.

The pitch wasn’t close to the plate. That guy finally threw a changeup and Berry wasn’t ready for it.

You need to sweep the bottom teams when you are at home. Stop it with this “let’s just hope for 2 out of 3” crap. That’s not the LSU mindset. A 15-15 conference record will have you on the road in the post season.
Agreed since you have no upvotes. We shouldn’t lose to Auburn at home

You’re right I’m thinking of another big pitch. I don’t feel like going back and watching. Just a frustrating game with one bad inning.

if this team could just somehow avoid that one bad inning they have in most games. Awbern only scored in 1 inning.

Sweep bottom teams at home? Auburn is 18-8, hardly a bottom team. If 18-8 is a bottom team, then LSU would be one, as well.

In the postgame last night Butch Thomson said something to the effect of, "I'm glad we won, but we all need to get some rest tonight because LSU hits .126 better against right-handers. We'll be right-hand dominant the rest of the series."
Is the .126 part accurate? That's crazy.

Close. As a team, LSU hits .220 against LHPs and .326 against RHPs

Win two in a row to win series? Not likely. Probably a split on games 2-3.
