Paid attendance is such a bullshite metric and I'm ashamed that we celebrate that number.

First of all, ALL sports venues use tickets sold as the number for attendance. So go be ashamed in your closet where no one will care. A great game, a great crowd, a great win for the Tigers, great pub by the ESPN announcers & you are ashamed for a statistic. Good Lord.

I'll be giving out 2 for 1 knuckle sammiches by the left field monkey bars if you want to validate your opinion.
We have digital scanners for every ticket that passes through the gates. We should show actual attendance in the 4th inning. Nobody gives a damn how many tickets got sold.

Agreed. Three were a few empty seats scattered around my section and throughout the stadium, but there were by far more SRO fans than I've seen before and that includes regionals/supers.
Looking forward to another big crowd again tonight. I have no issues packing in tight to make room for 3 college coeds in yoga pants/short shorts to squeeze into those 2 empty seats next to mine...as long as they don't knock my hi-ball over and spill my cheer fuel.

Actually, I'm guessing that there were that many people there, just not all at the same time. A lot of people came in after they stopped counting and filled in after others left.
