"At least We Had The Courage To Apologize" By saying We, are you telling us that you are a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon? If so, it would have been more courageous to not put up the sign in the first place. But your organization has never been known for such courage and there was NO courage involved in the apology. If you are not a member of the fraternity, then who is WE? I hope you don't mean to include anyone in the LSU

This!

There will never be a day when the DKEs represent LSU. They represent, and have always represented, the worst of LSU and Louisiana.

I was in another fraternity at LSU, but I always loved seeing what the DKEs had up on game day. One year for homecoming, their homecoming decorations were a huge, pomped nose with a big line of white powder in front of it with a sign that said something like (but much funnier):
"The only thing faster than the Tigers is the coke up Cobb's nose."
Vols RB Reggie Cobb had recently had a little run in with the law.

The Cobb nose and line of cocaine were pomped for homecoming and the sign read, "Two things on the line: Archer's Job and Cobb's nose".

I was like 13 or 14, but I still remember that setup. DKEs at their best.

You know what's way more disgusting than that sign anyway, the amount of people willing to take part in the "I'm offended" culture. It was offensive. So what? Grow up.

I agree it was in bad taste and not defending their actions one little bit but... what about all the katrina comments from other teams fans? Did that make the front page of msn? Did any of those people write apology letters?

Qualifying your statement with "But..." Pretty much negates everything that came before.

"I'm not a racist but..."
"It's not about the money but..."
"I'm not defending their actions but...."

When I was @ LSU in the early 90s, I remember 2 signs by Delta Kappa Epsilon. Before TX A&M played @ Tiger Stadium in 1990, the hung a banner w/ the Aggies' helmet logo on it w/ an "E" placed to the left & right of the logo (spelling "EAT ME"). Later that season leading up to the Ole Miss game, the banner featured the phrase "Hold on, Rebs, the Tigers are coming!" w/ an image of a tiger forcibly sodomizing a man in a Confederate uniform.

This incident has brought out who the adults are on TD, and who the wet behind the ears douchebags are.

Your argument may have some merit if it had been done off campus by an independent group. When something like this is done on LSU property as an LSU organization, it tars everyone affiliated with the University by association. The administration and alumni have every right to be offended.

Go buy a house off campus if you want to be left alone. Put up all the signs you want. We'll still think you're douchebags, but you have a right to be a douchebag on your own dime and your own time. As long as you're part of LSU, you'll abide by LSU's rules.

It was in bad taste, and so was Miley Cyrus' twerking.

Is anyone asking her to apologize?

The second banner should have said that the DKE's are sorry they don't have 10 brain cells in the whole house.

Wasted the 1000 post on those morons.

I remember when we played Florida State Seminoles for a chance to go to the Orange Bowl. Someone posted a big banner like that and it read "B EAT THE SEMEN HOLES"
