co-offensive coordinator at maryland, seems like he was highly sought after

Why do people think Matt Canada is good?

Then why did we hire him?
I think Canada's offense is awesome in some leagues, for some teams. It just wasnt extremely good at LSU, in the SEC. And it was non-effective in the red zone. He'll be a great OC for other teams.
I'm only talking about what I saw on the field. I cant speak for the bad relationships he had with the coaching staff....but I assume it was the main reason he is gone now.
But he was hired for his high flying offense. It didnt work out.

Ask Orgeron, he hired him

Ensminger better kill it this season or the total house cleaning and sanitation of LSU football will be under way
Nah dont think so, ...if he does horrible, then I agree. But he'll be scrutinized all season, for sure. I suspect he'll do great.

I feel Like we aren’t going to be a top 25 offense just because we don’t run HUNH exclusively and rack up yards on yards on yards while running a million plays
But I would Expect anything less than top 40 would be very disappointing.

Clearly Orgeron wasn't intimate enough with his style of offense to pluck him out of nowhere, so he must've had somewhat of a reputation to get the job.

I get your point, but....
Personally-- I don't care where they rank on offense or defense.... but where they rank in the final poll. Give me Ws!!!!!

I mean This is more for Ensminger than O
If we win every game 7-0 with a defensive TD I’ll still buy my TShirt.
But I think We would also probably move on from Ensminger.

What's your point here? Canada is 17 times better than CSE or what?
This ranking means absolutely nothing at this point.

It’s means almost everyone outside of Baton Rouge thinks Canada is a better OC than Ensminger.
Whether that’s true or not is yet to be seen

Two things. Coach O and Canada were a bad fit. Whose fault is that? Some say one, some say the other and then some say it was jolting joe.
Number two our players weren't a good fit for his offense. If he would have had a chance to recruit for his system it might have been different. Our O line was built for a power running game and all that shifting just wore them out as the game went on.

Not buying it. Saw with my own eyes last year. Lots of smoke and mirrors. Thats not to say SE is better but only to say that CMC's style of play wasn't a significant upgrade from what we had.

Might of had something to do with the fact that the offensive scheme was suppose to be our biggest shift in decades. And I thought the offense played pretty well considering that.
Posted on 7/13/18 at 11:52 am to Greace
The O was not bad per se......it just didn't translate into more wins.
We could have kept Les's offense and won 9 games.

Let's see what their rank is during and after the season, specifically at LSU. We'll have stats and numbers to verify who really is the better OC from one year to the next.

Are there any quotes to back that up? That seems more like a conditioning thing anyway.
The offense actually improved and ran more jet sweeps as the season went along.

Wasnt one of the main talking points around here that we felt we could of won the alabama game with a few lucky breaks? Canada didnt coach the Notre Dame game and the Troy game was the game where O admited to stepping in before halftime right?
