It does seem like Coach Kelly approached the LSU job like a manager. Put assistants under him and let them handle the individual players. I think you have to be a little more personal with the players if you want their respect. I know Jay Johnson is not like that.

Yup. that's why I posted it.

It seems our national reporters are more interested in being reporters than locals.

No, which is why clown show Woodward is finally gone.

Agreed. I just get the sense that he saw his role as being different than it really needed to be. Come in, put the right systems in place, get the right assistants hired, and get the machine running properly. Treat the players like men, hold them to discipline standards, and performance will follow.

Frankly it could’ve worked in its own way, if he was able to properly identify and manage his coordinators. If there is a competent defense in 2023, and a playoff appearance and/or playoff run, he buys a lot of runway and there is less of an audience for the personal criticism.

The sources aren’t anonymous. Bech, Cooks, CJ daniels.
Bech was passed up by better players and left immediately. Him and that Walker Howard brat left immediately because of competition.

CJ Daniels could not get right and left immediately. Nuss and him definitely didn't have chemistry though. He scored 6 times this year, but has 351 yards. He's Keon Coleman part 2. For comparion's sakes, he had 480 in 11 games last year as the 4th best receiver at LSU. He's the second best WR at Miami and is on pace for 70 more yards in a similar 11 games.

Cooks, the extremely awful DB coach we had? The guy who sacked and was gone after 2 years?

His "state" salary was only $400k/yr. That's pocket change compared to the rest of his salary.

Yeah, Scott Woodward is an idiot.

He’d been a HC for 20 years and was successful at ND. What kind of vetting would have predicted the future?

It sounded like sour grapes considering he was successful there

Exactly this. Nobody was anti BK after 2022. Nobody predicted this nosedive.

This is on Kelly and Woodward. All of you defending Woody for the past couple of days should do some serious reflection on what transpired with the Kelly hire and the ensuing years.

In Woodward’s defense he did seem aware that he made a mistake. But what is he going to do? Voluntarily run to the press and admit his fault?

I can respect him spearheading the return of Baker and Raymond.

He should have learned from his mistake with Jimbo. He obviously did not. More reason for not forgiving him for the dumbass hire. Not to mention the stupid contract that we are lucky to have had an anonymous supporter volunteer to pay off. We can't operate this way. No successful team can.

It’s a sad day if that little piece of shite really made the players and recruits feel unwanted.

Ive never wished anything ill on our former coaches and players. As long as they gave effort at LSU…I wish them luck. Not that he cares what I think but fuk him.
