I think it’s too early to tell whether Hughes has really improved offensively as was expected coming into the season. This game is a total wash considering the majority of the team has been a waste of at-bats.

I know it was just Southern, but everyone on the team hit line drivers into the outfield all game, and Hughes literally didn’t get a ball out the infield.
He and Broussard should be battling it out at second, assuming one of them can hit around .240. You don’t need a shortstop at third to have a good defensive third baseman.

I don’t disagree with this at all. CPM has always stayed loyal to his returning players and uses the early season and midweek games to tweak his lineup.

It’s early. I can’t see Hughes in the lineup come conference play unless Smith goes down.

Hughes is fine. Not like anyone else lit it up at the plate tonight.

Hughes and Broussard are prototypical Sunbelt-type players.

If we all can see this, why cant Pulmonary?

The bottom half will end up hitting .200 just like last year.

Since when do we allow a guy that sucks at the plate to have a spot in the lineup.

I’ll post this a 3rd time since it’s such a hot take
Per Skip on the radio show last week he is in for his defense
LSU would like him hitting .250

He is doing what they want
