I see the potential for Jefferson to get a very large number of snaps in two weeks.

he didn't look good at all in the running game last week.

bama fans seem to be more worried about JJ. majority of the rushing yds against them have come from more mobile qbs. so yes jj will play and will run the ball.

I don't understand what the Bama fans have to do with the amount of playing time JJ gets.

And he still had a lot of success for the amount of snaps he got. He's been running so well that he has become at least a serious threat that we are beginning to redeem the benefits of. He broke the game open last week.

Secret playbook anyone??

I think a pass from Ware or RS at an oportune time might be in order. Overall though, I believe the Tigers match up just as well with the Tide as they have for many years now; possibly even better.

I jsut hope we dont continually try to run the ball against a 8 man front the way we did over and over first half vs tenn.

I do.

And I hope by the 4th quarter those 8 men are sick and tired of LSU running right at them.

It seemed to work in the UT game, why would you not want to see similar results?

SEC rantards?

Hell you didn't even point to a thread. Listen I know you are a big JJ supporter, and that's great. But why not support the team that is winning, with JL as the starter and JJ coming for a change of pace?

I dont follow bama as closely as other teams, i just go by what their fans have been saying since week 1. If they say their team has had more trouble defending qbs that run than a traditional running back, well then that says a lot doesnt it?

I see LSU fans like yourself say this. I rarely see bama fans say this.

Because the seaon has been going on for 9 weeks now and im not sifting through the sec rant for old threads. There is a search button, you could learn how to use it.

When have i ever said i wanted JJ to start? The dude constructed a 99 yd drive without completing a pass. Give the kid a break, he just like everyone else has been going out and busting his arse. he has pretty much shut up all the fans, well except for you.

I make one comment and you turn it into JL vs JJ.

Not really. A lot of fans don't know what the hell they are talking about and repeat stuff they hear at the tailgate. Look around this board. Also, while JJ can run I wouldn't put him in the top of running quarterbacks in the ncaa this season.

Neither would I, but i would put that as his best quality. And the only reason why he sees playing time.. Please correct me if im wrong though.

Good thing perception isn't reality.

Kent St - QB was also the leading rusher. Bama beat them by 41 points

Penn St - QB was 2nd leading rusher. He was pulled for a QB that attempted no rushes. Lost by 16 to Bama

N. Tex. - 3 QBs used. Combined for 9 yards rushing. Lost by 41 points.

Ark - Wilson ran 1 time. Lost by 24

Fla - Brantley was eating Bama up (190 yards). His replacement at QB became the leading rusher. Lost by 28

Vandy - Used 2 QBs who had the 1st and 3rd best rushing totals. Lost by 34

Ole Miss - Mackey ran 12 times for 6 yards. Lost by 45 points

Tenn - Simms only had 58 yards passing. Lost by 31

With all due respect it's not hard to beat out his other quality of passing.

I really don't know why he is playing to be honest. LSU hasn't needed him thus far.

the diff between all those teams is well, they cant play defense.

The guy has attempted 10 passes and rushed 26 times. So i would bet a lot of money he is going to run the ball against bama, or at least try to. I dont really get what yall are trying to argue here? You honestly dont think JJ will play against Bama?

he'll play.
I dont think he'll be the decideing factor like some of you try to make him out to be.
I expect it to be a mix of what we've seen so far.
75-80% JL rest to JJ.

reread the thread title and OP. People are arguing that NO, WE DON'T NEED AN ATHLETIC QB TO BEAT BAMA.

No not really, but you never know. Id rather have JJ ready if we need him, then not have him ready. The games have never been in doubt, might be the reason he has played more than i expected.

If we fall behind, No

If we are ahead, then no different that what we've seen
