As bad as recognizing Miles won't improve, we now know Harris won't either

The offseason was full of hope that Harris would make the jump and be a serviceable QB. He is a junior, after all. We now know he won't. He is who he is.

Forget about Miles for a minute.
We have MAJOR QB problems.

How many games can THIS team win with Harris playing QB the way he does?

I see 5 more losses on the horizon for this team this year. As talented as they are, we all said it was dependent on Harris being average. He is not that. The jump didn't happen. There has been no improvement.

With Harris playing this way, this is a 6-6 team. Maybe 7-5.

If Harris is the same QB, and we have a better defense than last year, why do you see 3 more losses than last year?

Don't disagree, but with poor BH, I think the rest of the team has to play at top efficiency to even go 6-6 or 7-5. I feel for the kid; he's got the want, but he has coaches who don't put him in the best position to excel (and actually put him in the worst).

I don't think there's a qb anywhere that could be successful with this offense. There are serious problems up front, no scheme and coaches unwilling to adjust

The offensive line is worse that's why. Same offense, same QB, and bad O-line recipe for 7-5 or worse.

Harris is not great. But we don't put him in a position to succeed with our play calling. At least we didn't last Saturday.

Do you have any idea how many QBs in history have "looked" really bad under one coach only to flourish under another?

You don't "know" any such thing. What we KNOW is that Miles hasn't had a single QB he recruited develop.

Better find a punter that can flip the field or the defense will get tired and become useless in the fourth. The farther an offense has to go to score, the harder and more effective the defense is in the fourth. Which as an LSU fan, you know that's usually where we win our games.

That's such fuching bullshite. Miles has had shitty QB play since Cameron was in Baktimore and Harris was in Junior High. Blaming it on Harris is moronic.

They only let him pass when it absolutely needs to be a completion and then it's always a fuching bomb. It's like they're allergic to screens, slants and crossing routes. The only time they let him sling it is when we have to drive quickly to win a game. I honestly hate fans like you, waste of air.

What TigerFanNKaty said. The OLine is a dumpster fire and opposing defenses are just following the Alabama/Arkansas blueprint against us and we are proving we can't beat it.

LSU has lost 4 out of its last 6 games. The 4 losses had teams doing successfully what Alabama did to us. Wisconsin followed their blueprint. We have no answer and everyone knows it.

The remaining teams on our schedule who will be able to do that to us this year are:

Auburn
Florida
Ole Miss
Alabama
Arkansas
Texas A&M

I think we lose either 4-5 of those games if Harris can't make them pay for loading up the box and blitzing on passing downs. So far, he cannot and our OLine is trash. Hence, the prediction.

Yes we have major QB problems. But you can't completely fault Harris man. This offensive scheme is not QB friendly at all and it's become pretty clear Miles refuses to adapt.

That's just how Wisconsin plays. They didn't have to follow any blue print. They are strong in the trenches on both sides of the ball. They have been playing that physical brand of football for years now. Sure, they'll load the box. But the problem starts with our offensive line not being able to push back the defensive line.

We will struggle against the teams that can match our physicality. We will beat teams that are weak on the defensive line.

Who knows what kind of team Arkansas will be this year. Ole Miss and Alabama at home helps. Auburn and Florida have good defensive lines, but their offenses are so terrible that those games should be sloppy and low-scoring.

I don't think it's crazy to think LSU will win 2-3 of those games.

It's pretty confusing to see the majority of Ranters defending Harris so vehemently when I would bet most of these same people were wildly critical of Jordan Jeffersons play. But the sad reality is that JJ was a better QB than Harris has been. And it's not even close.

I wonder through what prism a lot of you are watching these games. Going into this season Harris has a career completion % of 53%. That is clearly not good enough. Not even close to being good enough. And now as a junior, after starting an entire season, he puts up a 6.9 QBR in the first game. AND he ends the game with one of the worst plays/decisions you'll ever see a QB make at this level.

I'm baffled at the overflowing support of Harris. The guy is not good. He doesn't have "it". He has the exact opposite of QB moxy.

I completely understand your point and, that's why I started a thread a few days ago called "I take back everything I ever said about JJ" or something like that.

We now know beyond any reasonable doubt that our QBs play scared as frick, hold on to the ball too long, etc etc etc as a pattern caused by who coaches them.

Yes. We owe JJ some retraction. Sure. He wasn't great and his attitude sucked, but frankly, now, I think some of that attitude came from playing in that bull shite offense.

The "support" is really just a fancy way of saying, "we don't really know shite about whether BH can play..........every fricking QB Miles has recruited has ended up with the same "problem"..........maybe.....it ain't them"

We don't have an SEC QB on our roster. The QB problem is a multi-year issue.

I'm off the negative ride, and I'm all in for 11-1!

I think it's clearly "them", and miles should take tons of heat for signing them and continuing to run them out there.
