Myth
And it's an INSULTING myth. Worse, if they're going to apply that myth to JL in the pocket, then they're going to have to apply it to the pathetic way JJ runs the option cause man, the next time he takes on the 1st guy on the edge so that he doesn't ALSO make the damned tackle will be the first.
It is highly doubtful there are ANY players on the LSU football team that are "afraid of contact".

It's just ridiculous
He has on several occasions taken big hits in the pocket and delivered the ball down field.

And then come back to do it again.
The idea that a QB who gets rid of the ball quickly is "afraid of contact" makes the moron who never gets rid of the fricking ball a freaking Spartan but last I checked, the point of a passing play was to GET THE BALL THE frick OUT!!!!!

i hope he tears shite up at that game

It is another in a long line of JL hater memes created to disparage a player.
another classic:
He throws off his back foot.
-->Best when Peyton Manning described in DETAIL, ON AIR how that many times you do this to avoid the rush, that he and every QB does it and practice such throws when they are unable to step into them. Did that stop the meme, no. The haters still rotate their favorite memes in an attempt to tear the kid down.

Honestly, if JL is given a shot(I suspect as a FA) and makes an NFL team and at some point in the next couple of years, starts a game or two and does well, Miles will NEVER(and should never) hear the end of it.
I'm not predicting that for JL. But holy shite, if he does it..............

Lee's problem is what he does when the play starts to break down. Not that JJ excelled at this in the Bama game
But I hope he has a monster game and gets drafted somehow. Lee is a great kid, and I wish him all the best that life has to offer.

Only idiots will keep pushing this issue.

Neither has excellent pocket presence BUT, JL has ALWAYS been FAR less likely to take a sack AND, people need to stop acting like 2008 was yesterday. THIS YEAR, he not only was FAR less likely to take a sack; he was ALSO very unlikely to get picked.
The kid EARNED a at least a CHANCE to have an effect on that game.

You must not have read last months SI, cause clearly he does and Brady remembers it well.

I just don't think it would have had an effect on the outcome. That is where people get mad at me.

Sheesh. At least TRY.

It's being shown on Fox College Sports Channel with Cox Cable in SW La. Not sure about BR area.

Frankly, I think we were going to lose either way but I don't think you decide that in the fricking 3rd quarter if you're the COACH!
And of course, JL also earned a wee bit more respect and play in the Arky and UGA blowout wins too(and the cotton bowl last year). It was just a COMPLETE and TOTAL disregard for what he contributed to this team's success.

But fine, for another example, Keiland Williams doesn't haunt Miles.

I mean yeah, obviously Brady ended up better but it aint like the guys he played behind were scrubs.
The closest JJ is going to get to an NFL field is if he hooks up as an analyst on ESPN.

wut?
with people Like Gronkowsi, Gates, Witten Gonzalez, etc, etc.
This is the golden age of TEs in the NFL. JJ is also nowhere near big enough. Remember TEs have to block.
Keep dreaming.

That said, I honestly think that JJ is a great example of someone who get the word "athletic" applied to him PRIMARILY cause he happens to be black.
He isn't very elusive. He runs a bit clumsy. He seems to have virtually no field awareness. I mean, how often has it seemed like he practically ran TO the tackler?
I view him as a guy who was kinda fast for a QB. But, I never thought of him as athletic at all. Matt Flynn was FAR more "athletic". So was Mauck.
