Here are the highest single season yards from scrimmage totals in LSU history.

Fournette. 2,206
Alexander. 1,969
CEH.......... 1,867
Hill............ 1,582
Faulk......... 1,566
Guice......... 1,493
Hilliard.......1,472
Hilliard...... 1,447
Faulk......... 1,416
Alexander. 1,435
Williams... 1,394
Hilliard...... 1,269
Scott......... 1,241
Faulk......... 1,237
Hester....... 1,209
Ridley........ 1,208
Fournette.. 1,161
Toefield..... 1,140
Fuller.......... 1,126
Williams..... 1,105
Addai.......... 1,091
Vincent....... 1,081
Davis........... 1,061
Fuller........... 1,022

The argument is probably only between Fournette, CEH and Alexander.

Fournette with 23 total TDs, CEH 17 and Alexander 18.

Kevin Faulk.

He was that entire team.

Clyde had the benefit of playing in an offense that was wide open. There is no way of knowing what other backs could have done in that system

I’d take Fournette regardless. No telling what he could do in the current scheme

Whenever you want to laugh, find my thread on edwArds helaire...I started it after Texas game and told all the haters to get used to the starter....this place hated him preseason and up to about game 5....then they finally realized he was a beast.

Also can’t negate the impact he made. Stats may not be at the top of the list, but the crucial plays he made, and timing of those plays is what really puts this seasons performance from him at the top in my opinion.

Mam Fournette in 2015 was ridiculous. Poor guy was the entire offense.

In the Texas bowl Texas Tech was putting 10 guys in the box and Leonard still went for 200 and 4 TDs.

Clyde was incredible this year but I just don’t if you can call it the greatest ever.

Yeah Leonard could have put up close to 3,000 yards of offense in this scheme

So I’ve gotten to know Charles Alexander here in Houston, sent him this thread, he said “ One more argument on my behalf (laughing emoji), bowl games stats were not counted when I played....”

He is correct.

I am adding the 203 yards and 1 TD vs Stanford in the bowl game.

It now makes his case that much stronger.

He ended up playing 1 fewer game than Fournette ultimately. So his per game average is pretty close to Fournette.

Faulk will always be my favorite player, but if Faulk was the entire team in 1998 (he wasn't), what exactly was Fournette in 2015?

You guys are young and never witnessed Sir Charles run! The others were great and CEH was outstanding but Charles was the best RB I ever saw in a Tiger uniform!

While you're thinking about it, I'll drop this here.

I have to put the coffee cup down before I watch this because at 00:38, my hands are going UP.

interesting stuff. suggestions:

1) since CEH technically played 15 games and most of these guys only played 12 (assuming you added in bowl stats), it'd probably be better to have a per game average. or list games played

2) can we also haz what year the stats were from?

Leonard’s Sophomore season was absurd. It’s pretty tough to top that

He also played in 3 fewer games than CEH, even when you include his bowl stats.

I think Clyde was the perfect RB for this offense. He played huge down the stretch for us.

I’m not saying some of the other backs wouldn’t have been successful.

#4 needs to make no case

Cannon, Alexander, Hilliard, Faulk, and Fournette sit atop The mountain of LSU RB greats.

The time is long past for #4 to have his name immortalized in Tiger Stadium
