Yeah Person is really the only one. Maybe by the end of the season Latz will be the second one.

One thing I wish this team had right now is one more decent lefty in the pen.
Agreed. We only have 1.

Sounds like Chinea will be back in the cleanup spot tomorrow: "He's leading the team in hitting with runners in scoring position." #LSU

That's great. Bat him fricking 8th. Scivicque, Stevenson, and Foster get on base a ton.

I really can't imagine how good this staff would be with a healthy Latz. It's crazy to think coming in he was possibly regarded as having the highest ceiling of the group...and that's not to knock on Lange, either.

Maybe its just me, but I consider BA with RISP to be mostly a luck stat.

I know Ole Miss was out of pitching. But yesterday's lineup looked damn strong. My only issue was the slow bottom 3.

It was just one of those days. A good response to a previous day of suckage by the bats.

Can't you just let me have this?

Hale and Sciv need more ABs than Chinea. Period. End of story.

Lol why bat a guy 8th that's leading team in % risp? U want him hitting more. I don't think yall value that stat as much as you should.

Why would mlb managers call this a key stat then.

Because they aren't all smart guys? I'm not even sure which managers you are referring to.

If its such a key stat, how come there aren't guys who are consistently at the top of the league in BA with RISP? It varies so much year to year. Could it be that there is a large portion of randomness to it?

I value it. But it's not the only thing that exists for a cleanup. However, it seems that it's all you focus on because it's all you have.

He isn't getting on base. He's only hitting singles. He can't steal. He can't bunt. His defense is bad. This isn't the guy you want getting more ABs than Hale who actually shows he has gap power. Or scivique who's hitting .420 consistently... with power. He actually crushed a curveball this weekend. That's huge for him.

For all the "if it ain't broke" people, Chinea has his best game in a month batting in the 8 hole, why is CPM going to move him in the lineup again?

It's a big key imo. You seem to think Hale or Kade would do a better job at it. Is it easier to hit .500 with 4 at bats or 20? One would think so to these guys hitting less or having less opportunities they would have a higher average with Risp
