What does that have to do with my comment? Way too many morons speaking on things that they don’t even have a basic knowledge of because they want to “pick sides”

I would happily take closer to 35-40 passing TDs in a season

Oh you would, would you? Do you know how many times an LSU QB has thrown for over 28 TDs in a season? One. Uno. Know how many times they’ve thrown for over 22 TDs in a season? 4. That’s right—4. Thrown for 20 or more? 7. Seven. Been playing football at LSU for a pretty long time.

Remember 2001 when Rohan was throwing it all over the place and Josh Reed won the Biletnikoff? Know how many TDs he threw for that year? 18. Yes, 18. Just 2 more than Daniels this year. Of course Rohan threw 10 interceptions that year to Daniels’ 3, but you said you don’t care all that much about interceptions, didn’t you? As long as you get your 35-40 passing TDs.

2019 absolutely mushed some of your brains and warped your perceptions. We caught lightning in a bottle literally never seen before. Just 3 years later and that team has 2 of the top 5 (arguably the top 2 or 3) WRs in the NFL, and a top 5 QB that dragged one of the worst franchises in NFL history to the Super Bowl in only his 2nd season (1st full one). It also had another WR that scored 13 TDs that year despite missing 3 games and I believe was leading the country in 2020 with 10 TDs in 7 games before opting out for the NFL draft, in which he was a 2nd round pick.

That offense also featured a 1st round draft pick RB who rushed for over 1,400 yards and added an extra 450 receiving for kicks. All behind a line that won the Joe Moore Award for best OL in college football, consisting of 6 guys that made an opening day 53-man NFL roster as rookies, 3 of which were starters.

Oh yeah, and the son of one of the 3 greatest WRs in NFL history TE who pitched in school records of 47 catches and 570 yards. And a partridge in a fricking golden, once in a literal lifetime pear tree. A pear tree that was such a complete and utter outlier that it simply cannot be the standard by which any reasonable season’s success is remotely judged.

I don’t know that Nuss can do that, but no one really knows how he’d do with more reps. I do believe he can continue to improve though.

Of course Nuss can continue to improve with more reps. He’s 19. And so can Daniels. He’s 21 and next year will be the 1st time he’s had the same OC in consecutive seasons (I think). And he absolutely must improve throwing the ball down field. He must. But even if he doesn’t—if he has the EXACT same season next year as he did this year—he would finish 7th all time in LSU history in yards and 10th in TDs. FOR A CAREER. In 2 seasons. 32 touchdowns is good for 10th all time in LSU history for a career. But you’d prefer 35-40 for a season. Well no fricking shite.

I think it’s about money AND control. Money OR control. It’s money first, but control is always right there, too.

Pretty impressive throwing for nearly 300 yds and 2 TDs in 1 half vs a team dropping 7 in coverage and no threat of a run against the best D in CFB.

Soft coverage that leads to easy throws
