LSU has 3 games to play. I say LSU is a LOCK to make the NCAAT even if they go 1-2. LSU goes 1-2 and makes the NCAAT. I was right. See?

OP is calling out when it's still decided if LSU was truly the LOCK or not.

Can't be that confusing, right?

There is a huge logical fallacy here. Lock means that if X is true, the result will be Y, no matter what else happens. That simply is not the case here. LSU could very well get into the tournament, but whether the things they need to happen happen will not mean that they were a lock. There were two LOCKs coming into the SEC tournament, Kentucky and Arkansas.

Now if you said LSU is a lock if all favorites win their tournament games, then you were probably right.

I don't think we're a lock.

If Auburn wins the SEC, UCLA wins the Pac 12, and UConn takes the American, we're likely out.

We are pretty good since most of the bubble is gone, but we're not 100% yet.

But it doesn't mean that LSU wasn't a LOCK all along given the 1-2 finish.

Do you see any conceivable scenario that leaves LSU out of the tournament? If the answer is yes, then LSU was not a lock. What do you think lock means?

Yea, this would be bad.

I said I was going to end this and I am.

Your only point is that there are variables yet to be determined that can't be known for sure, yet you refuse to understand that those variable outcomes were included in - at least mine - projections that LSU was a LOCK. You also completely ignore the OP asking for apologies from posters on a matter that hasn't even seen it's conclusion.

Again, have a good night.

We must have very different understandings of what lock means. If LSU were truly a lock then we wouldnt have to wait until selection sunday to find out. We would already know LSU is in the dance.

Which I believe true. Hence LOCK.

Pretty much what you're asking for is an absolute barring any circumstance. The NCAA disbanding tomorrow would preclude LSU from being in the NCAAT. So I guess LSU isn't a lock.

Based on foreseeable outcome, LSU was a LOCK - meaning going to make the NCAAT regardless of some fans disappointment - when they beat ARK last Sat.

The Arizona-UCLA game right now is probably the biggest single game left in terms of LSU's hopes. A win for UCLA could push them from out of the tournament to ahead of LSU.

Oh and prior to today's loss, I offered up $500 and my rep that LSU is in, no matter what.

It's unfathomable that none of the blowhards from this cesspool was willing to do the same.

We will have to agree to disagree.

Only lock is Tigers going to the NIT. To many loses to inferior teams to be a lock.

Dude, what's with all the hostility? I wouldn't take that bet, because I WANT LSU to be in the tourney. I think we all do.

Wanting them to be in doesn't make them a lock. There's a lot of holes in the resume, a lot of inexplicable bad losses coming at bad times.

What's your overwhelming evidence of LSU being a stone-cold lock? A 1 pt win at West Virginia? A last second win at Arkansas? Without both those wins, we're not even on the bubble. Wins over Ole Miss? They are sliding. A close loss to Kentucky? It's a loss.

We had a decent season, but wildly inconsistent. Every time we started to feel good about this team, they'd slump. Right now, we're sliding, and our previously best player (Mickey) has totally imploded. That's not encouraging.

I do hope we get in, but I won't be shocked if we don't.

The spectrum with Kentucky does not go nearly as low as ours.
On their worst day they won't lose to Auburn.

I think LSU is in regardless of what happens the rest of the way..
but what's the point? I mean.. really.

Your optimism the last month has been stellar! For the record, I agree with you that we are in. The Arky win should have punched the ticket, but I wouldn't blame the committee if they bumped us. We gave them entirely too many reasons to overlook us. I still believe the SEC is shite, but knowing how the Tourney rolls I wouldn't be surprised if we had 3 teams in the Sweet 16 lol

Just a guess, but the hostility wasn't directed towards you. It was directed towards the idiots on this board posting that we don't deserve to make the tournament, don;t even try, we suck, and the like.

The anerican conference tournament could really mess things up for lsu. We really need smu to win it. tulsa or uconn winning it would be big trouble
