I agree Winning with luck has only increased Les Miles Tenure! Help us PLEASE! WE NEED A REAL COACH!

You're reading comprehension sucks. Miles has beaten every one of them. He'll win some games, but his team's identities are always inconsistency. Saban, Petrino, and before this year, Meyer's teams did not show this inconsistency. Throw in wildcard coaches like Richt, Spurrier and Nutt and Miles can't compete year in and year out to produce an SEC championship caliber team.

What are you...12?
Name me a division program who has won the west more times in the past 6 years than LSU?
After you fail in being able to do that, name me a division program who has been in a BCS game more than LSU in the past 6 years?
LSU football ended the regular season at 10-2 and 10th in the BCS. If that's not good enough for you....tough.

If you take care of the process, the results will take care of themselves.

would you call it luck vs Tenn when they had 13 players on the field and Les Miles had his head up his arse?

Wouldn't you say that consistantly putting your team in a position to win in the last minutes of a game is pretty good coaching?
Most reasonable, non-bias folks would say when you win at almost an 80% rate while playing in the SEC for a 6 year period, your coaching has to be pretty good.

Saban - Utah game showed consistency?
Petrino - consistently bad defense isn't what we strive for

Oh no, results.
Look, it is a football game. With about a million different scenarios per game.
In most instances, we beat the teams we are supposed to beat, and we play the good teams close and beat them about the same as they beat us. No need to over state anything. Christ.
You dont like Les, then say it. Everything empirical says you are wrong as saying he is a Bad or even less than average coach.
We can get into the process if you want, Sabans process is in place. Bama plays like a well oiled machine, right. But absolutely self destructed in the second half, unneccesary penlaties, lack of fundamentals, Christ.
It is a game of damn near equally talented players, it is going to be close ALOT. Recruiting is more even than it has ever been, it will continue to be a competitive league for a long time.
It was much easier to win the West when the only competition was a solid AU team, Arky was down, Miss St down, Ole Miss Down, and Bama down. It was like a perfect storm and LSU did well, that day has passed, NOONE is goint to dominate the West for years......folks just need to take a freaking breath.

FL was breaking in a new QB, which always gives you a pass.
Unless you're Les Miles!

Urban Meyer has proven to put his kids in the right position to win games on the field. Same with Nick Saban. I can't say that about Les Miles.
Les Miles is 5-5 against those two giants of coaching, but that's just because he's been lucky - (oh or he did it with Saban's players, when are we going to stop hearing that one? We can only hope!)

But my main focus is what happens on the field.
So I guess the Auburn off-the field situation this year, if true, would be OK if it happened at LSU?

As long as he has superior players, he can eek out wins against subpar teams.
Sup-par teams like FL, or 16th ranked Bama, or 22nd ranked Miss. St., or 24th ranked West Va.???

Yes because good coaches find a way to win especially close games. Luck is undefinable. A good coach would have his team in a position to win in the last second.

says Mack Brown, Nick Saban, U Meyer....all posting their worst seasons at their current jobs.
shite happens.
Miles has a positive trend in his results, does this mean he has implemented the correct processes.
You yourself just said that process yields results, therefore results are the judge of process.

Keep Miles, send Crowton down the road to be ULL HC. Let him screw up the Ragin' Cajuns a few years.
Posted on 11/29/10 at 8:45 am to Tiger JJ
What if LSU went 13-0, but needed a last second dumbass miracle on every single game - including ULM and the like? Sure, you'd be happy with the MNC, but would you really argue that the coach was good?
You are the dumbass. Go get a frickin life

Process matters over results? You must be a bureaucrat.
so lets go back to the roulette analogy, if someone bets all their savings on black and win, according to you that was a good financial move right, since after results are more import right?

All this second guessing is pointless.
Actually, this is college football. Ask Wisconsin.
STYLE POINTS MATTER.

Neither...it was BAD coaching on Dooley's part!

YES! Because now they are set. Had they lost, it would have been a DUMB move. Just like in football...If the Saints don't get the onside kick to start the 2nd half of the Superbowl and the Colts when, Payton would have a reputation of making the biggest coaching blunder in Super Bowl history....As it were, he's known for making one of the best.... ALL coaches are either good or bad based on RESULTS!! Period.
Is Urban Meyer a good or bad coache? He has 4 losses this year!!! You think FLA fans are looking to get rid of him??? OH Yeah!!...This is the same coach that brought them 2 NCs...He was a GREAT coach then, did he forget how to be good???

I would put it this way, if someone goes to a roulette wheel over the course of several months and bets, oh lets say about 78 times and wins 61 times, then I would say he definitely knows what he is doing to win that much at a game that is about 1.111 to 1 against at best!
And I would say that continuing to use a process that was that successful would be a good financial move - wouldn't you?
