That snag Jones got today was incredible and Laird made an insane catch a few games ago

Was it Sciambra who started in LF Sunday? He had an awesome diving catch.

Most of the defense made incredible plays yesterday, really. The errors need to chill out, though.

I think it may have been.

Yes, I agree. We've had some dorky errors that need to go away.

yup sciambra in lf because of the wind.

Also, Bregman running down the ball like jerry rice was fun to watch.

ETA: it was funny that they did the whole HR routine after Bregman's triple.

Going into this past weekend (this weekend's stats have not been posted yet on the SEC website) LSU was tied with South Carolina for the best fielding percentage in the conference at .980.

For comparison, .980 was LSU's 2012 season's fielding percentage.

Don't muddy up this thread with facts.

It is probably the bats. Did LSU use the Nike bats last year? I know there was a problem with several of the bats used by SEC teams. Several got out of contracts with their bat sponsors because of it.

I'm surprised there wasn't more than two homeruns yesterday. There was some serious wind blowing outward.

Laird, Stevenson, and Sciambra makeup the most athletic and fastest outfield LSU has seen in years.

They use Demarini bats. It's not the bats, it must be Blake Dean's coaching.

I could be wrong but I think we still use the same bats. Honestly, I think this team just has more power hitters.

We changed to Demarni bats before last season. We had used Easton.

anyone remember the thread that said no way jones, bregman, ross, and jones go for 40 homeruns and that katz would be lucky to hit 10 homeruns, that last year was his peak? well, about 1/4 of the way through the season, those 4 players have 10 home runs, and katz is already halfway to double digits. i realize sec play has yet to start and numbers will not be sustained at this level, but we're definitely starting out better than we did last season
