4-2-5, in the sense that it's talked about in college football, means running with a 3rd safety.

Like LSU has done since Chavis has arrived with a converted safety at OLB? Nothing new here really.

We sorta run that now as it is...third LB is basically a extra DB on the field...

Yes - it's what he ran at Tenn and 3 years here now. Calls it a 4-3, but SLB is a safety that plays on the weakside, WLB is a linebacker that plays on the strongside, and MLB plays more like a SAM.

I'll take this front four

DE Kiki
DT Freak
DT Brockers
DE Sam

Then keep the best LB on the field

LB Baker

Then drop Loston down as a rover instead of having a true LB in the box. Getting these 6 players on the field at the same time is key. 6 of the most talented football players on the entire team, hands down.

RVR Pappa
NB TM7
CB MoC
CB Simon
FS ER1

quote: We run nickel base don't we? That's 4-2-5 more or less. Not really. 4-2-5, in the sense that it's talked about in college football, means running with a 3rd safety. A nickel is a 3rd corner. Two totally different things.

not trying to perpetuate a rumor but the 4-2-5 sounds like we get more of our tweener athletes in the Loston mold on the field. This would be to our benefit against spreads and option O's
