I wouldn't buy football season tickets any more.

The game has changed way too much for the price. With players leaving in the middle of the season and LSU being eliminated with just one loss, the "season" can end by week 4, then you are stuck with fans who laugh at you for paying the TAF fees.

I gave up my football season tickets. My dad has had season baseball tickets since 89. We are in sec 208 at the top row at the end of the aisle with a Champions club parking pass. I will never let them go. We can leave the house 30 minutes before a game and be in our seats in time for 1st pitch.

Yeah for the people that want them and have them, obviously.

LSU tickets are cheaper on the secondary market by design. From what I hear the ticket office dumps them out to one big broker I think called Dynamic Pricing Partners in attempts to fill the seats. I've heard DPP drops the price until they sell or hit the Stubhub minimum of $6 and sometimes go lower on other sites. The value in season tickets is the relationships of the people sitting around you or unless LSU is lights out or 2019 good and the tickets are in demand. I have also heard the good tickets like the west sideline never come available because they are sold directly to that big broker. Who knows?

From a purely economic value, no. If I was a baller, sure. It is convenient to not have to shop for tickets and it's nice sitting in your spot. I think value is more tied to it being family tradition or just being proud of having season tickets.

I've had Saints and LSU tickets in the past and I typically lost my arse because I always wanted to attend the Cowboys/Bama type games where I could have made my money back. Now I just shop online when I want to go and my wallet is happier.

It really depends on the person and what his plans for use but since you asked I will give my take on it. Strictly considering LSU sports.

Football - For me it is not worth it. I had season tickets and let them go in 2018. Looking at the financials of it I decide that I could pick and choose the games I want to go and still pay less. In 2019, I went to every game that I waned to go to and paid way less than I would have had for season tickets.

Basketball - Absolutely worth it, I go to every game unless it falls on drill weekend. Tickets are cheap and my son loves going to basketball games. If I didn't have season tickets. I would end up spending a lot more through out the year on stub hub to go to every game. Even if you just want the big games, you are going to pay a pretty good chunk of what season tickets cost.

Baseball - Worth it. Typically selling a SEC weekend series will cover the cost of the entire season. I don't go to as many games for baseball. Early season games are too cold for me and my son to sit out there but having season tickets can almost be like free tickets if you sell the games you can't make or just sacrifice a few big games.

I also have Pels and Saints season tickets, but I sell the majority of the Pels games and make a little profit and go to the games for free. I usually go to 4 Saints games and sell the rest and get my money back. (Thank you Laker and Cowboys fans for paying for my season tickets year end and out)

I had 2 tickets on the 40, lower bowl for 20+ years. Gave them up in 2017. I was spending approx. $3,000 per year for the tickets, so that’s $200+ per game per ticket, when only 2-3 games are any good. I now buy tickets at the stadium from the scalpers. Fact, in 2019 I attended every game but 1, purchased 2 tickets each game between the 15 yard line lower bowl. I paid a TOTAL of $220 for the season. Here is the catch…had to wait until 5 minutes after kickoff, AS THE TICKETS ARE FIXING TO BE WORTH NOTHING. I once had 2 scalpers bid the price down against each other to $5 a ticket.

We have fball, MBB, and baseball season tickets. For some reason, I do not mind paying for and attending MBB and baseball games when we play lesser schools. BUT, I give away our fball tickets to the rent-a-win games every year. I HATE seeing LSU play FCS teams in fball.

I suppose it is the hassle of getting to and from LSU Football (as compared to the ease of getting to and from MBB and baseball) that makes me less interested in going to rent-a-win fball games at TS.

We will definitely give up our fball tickets first, maybe next season or in 2023.

This is the real value prop of season tickets, and only applies when the team is good. In years where we are legit SECCG threat, decent tickets to the Fla/AL/A&M/Auburn + East opponent are moderately difficult to find and usually above face. Moreso if you’re looking for 3+ tickets together.

Ever since they got rid of the deduction for the "donation," no.

I've been a men's basketball ticket holder for several years and it is worth it. Relatively inexpensive, a little under a grand for a pair in the 200s. When we can't go, I usually have no problems either selling or giving them away.

Plus it's nice that we are good so having a dedicated good seat is helpful.

From now on, after 25 years of season ticket purchases of 4 good seats, my new approach will be ..
by 4 tickets to 3 games offering $400 per ticket x 4 = $1600 per game x 3 = $4800. If we are really good and have a chance to beat Bama at home, I'll throw in an extra grand for that game. If not I'll watch on TV and save $1200 per season since I give away the nothing games anyway. This debacle of cop out season has soured me. It just isn't worth the trip from Shreveport every week not knowing what team is even going to take the field. Right or wrong, that's going to be my approach.

Cool. The Saints had a lot of frustration after that kick return.

I’ve had my 2 west sideline tickets since 1994. Thinking of letting them go. Almost $3500 for them is not a good deal to me anymore.

I agree for Football. I still have mine, but find it harder and hard each year to justify the significant costs. The only thing that really keeps me tethered to them is that they've been in my family for nearly 50 years and I've been going to the games/sitting in my same seat for over 30 years now. I think the nostalgia forces me to buy them each season more than anything else.

No question. Even the "cheap seats" in the PMAC provide a good view of the game. I sit right at half court. It's RARELY a hassle to get in an out of the games. And with 18 or so home games a year if I have to miss one or two I don't feel like I'm taking a huge financial hit for doing so. And it is nice on the rare occasion a game is sold out to have my great seats always available
