Just got tickets on priceline for Saturday round trip, leaving at 11:30 and coming back at 10:30.
$907 tax included for two.

I just bought my ticket 5 minutes ago and it was not even 500...

The airline industry doesn’t change their flight distribution/pattern based on a sporting event.... the world doesn’t revolve around LSU and Oklahoma sports

Even if flights were dirt cheap, I’d still prefer to drive.. when you time it out door to door, having to arrive at the airport a couple hrs before your flight, then going through TSA, then the flight itself, then going to the baggage carousel after the flight, and then renting a car- you’re really not saving that much time by flying.. and that’s assuming everything goes smoothly, no delays etc which isnt always the case.. plus if i drive it, i dont have to squeeze my 6’2” frame into the ever shrinking airline seats, i dont have to sit next to the screaming baby or the guy coughing up a lung who’s going to get me sick.. i can drive at my own pace, stop whenever the hell i want and usually endure a lot less stress than flying.

Try looking Thursday-Sunday, if you don't mind staying an extra night. Hotels in Midtown are a lot cheaper than Downtown.

I'm driving, but my wife has a thing Friday night so she is flying up first thing Saturday. She was able to book a first class, one way, nonstop flight for under $300

8 hours and maybe 15-30 mins to Atlanta from Nawlins. Traffic detour throug B’ham will cause a 15 min delay due to major rebuilding effort there. Atlanta traffic west of The city is always shitty. So, there it is.
