Just shedding light on a situation that was out of our control. There 6 sec teams ranked ahead of us in total defense. There 25 other teams ranked ahead of us as well. So for the money we are will to spend and have spent, I don't think we are going to have any problem replacing Aranda.

Total defense is a stat based off yardage alone. Its a very basis stat & pretty meaningless in today's football. PPG & redzone percentage in terms of TDs allowed is much more telling & useful.

So if you do not have a record setting offense, an offense that people will be talking about for decades, total defense is meaningless? Come on man. We would have lost to Texas, florida, Bama and maybe Auburn.

Fraid I'm gonna have to agree. He was cruising it seemed at times....just knowing that the O was gonna put up huge numbers.
Never blitzed enough IMO to get the 3 and outs more frequently.
But whatever, I'm good with whatever the man chooses to do.
