The second to last play of regulation, the one with 10 seconds left from midfield. Why did we go into the Hail Mary defense? We gave you a free 25 yard completion to get yourselves in a spot where you could run a regular play from the 19 yard line.

Max pressure with mtm d coverage would have been the only call to make...

Only a fan could say there’s only one call that can be made. If that’s the only call a coach would make then the other team would KNOW you were going to call that. They would run a bubble screen off a rub route and dance right into the end zone.

In football you have to keep the other team guessing. And that means that in situation x you can’t always do y. It doesn’t matter what x and y are.

I agree and also the last 2 years I've wondered in many situations why we haven't jumped in a 7 man front, pressured(blitzing, stunts) when really needed a stop while locking on in the secondary...I've chalked it up as it isn't his personality I guess

What now we expect a 5 Star coach to never make a bad call, are we expecting computerized robots to do a human job that will always have human error, or the play isn’t executed correctly

Exactly. Aranda is a great coordinator but the lack of QB sacks and pressures this year is what's wearing them out more than anything. Sacks put them behind the chains and we don't make enough tackles for a loss in my opinion. I think Aranda's defense is actually not that much different than Chavis. LSU ranks tied 42nd in sacks and behind 6 other SEC teams. I know not having Chaisson may have affected that some but it's not good either way. We play too soft at the corners as well especially on 3rd down and with no QB pressure on top of that is a recipe for disaster. I think we should get away from the 3-4.

Not buying the Aranda hype. He's very overrated
