We know that but how manyof them could run as fast as AE ?

I have said it before I hope nobody gets hurt.

APP will fight to win otherwise LSU shouldn't have scheduled us.

You will see how fast AE is.

No, not all of them were taken out due to injury. And certainly no one is implying that we hope AE gets hurt. As bad as we can be on this board, I don't think anyone would say that.

I'm looking forward to watching AE. I've seen some highlights and it will be nice to watch him in person. But don't be surprised if your coach pulls a healthy AE out for the 2nd string QB sometime in the 3rd quarter. No sense in risking the rest of the season.

That is the APPsolute truth. Unless lightning strikes twice and even then I expect AE to be watching in the 4th Qtr.

App State held LSU to 24 at home in 05.

In 05 LSU

at No. 15 Arizona State W 35-31
No. 10 Tennessee L 30-27
at Mississippi State W 37-7
at Vanderbilt W 34-6
Mississippi W 40-7
vs No. 17 Miami (FL) W 40-3

Looking at these scores, any person with a 4th grade education could understand an see App State played you bette than you 1-A/SEC competition. Some of you people really crack me up. App State getting BLOWN AWAY, definitely wont happen. App will definitely give LSU more fits than you expect. This could be a trap game for LSU. LSU normally struggles with Dual-threat qbs anyway. LSU should win, but you people sound very similiar to those fans in Ann Arbor last year.

Ok, first of all that was 2005. There were many distractions that year. Also, the first 2 games were close and we needed to leave or starters in the whole game. We had 5 weeks to rest and prep for the Miami game. More than likely you were better than Vandy and both Miss teams that year. Also if you assume we took our starters out at the end of the 3rd quarter, which I assure you it was long before that, then we probably would have scored at least another TD if we had left them in. Does 31-0 make that game a blow out?

Oh did I forget to mention this game was 3 years ago and totally irrelevant to the upcoming game?

Speaking of this, for those Appy fans that will be coming to BR for the game, at 4:00 in the afternoon in late August in south Louisiana, expect some lightning and some rain, daily. Prepare yourself.

I am thinking ?
Aug 30

Little clothing
Drinking and hydrating
Except the fact you will get wet
Pace yourself
Enjoy the food and LSU fans
Visit the Tiger
Watch the Band march to TS
Go to game and lose your voice
Walk back to tailgate and continue
Take the rest of the weekend to recover !!!

I am ready

PhillyApp, I think you got it down. Get there early, we are losing 3 hours of tailgating due to the early kickoff. But you are right, that does leave some time after to resume tailgating. And it's Labor Day weekend, so you have an extra day to recover.

S3 Row H

Were you near us?

Will APP get the same seats? I heard they are going to spread us out around the stadium.

To clarify comments made up to this point on the thread regarding the d-line of LSU.

First off, you guys do have some beasts on the d-line, and you very well may be deep, but Appalachian runs a no-huddle offense, meaning your d-line will have to get up off their fat asses and get back to the line every single down with minimal substitutions. If we can string a couple of first downs together you are going to have some big boys sucking on oxygen on the sideline after we score.

Secondly, as previously stated in this thread, you can have 40000 of the best d-lineman in the country, but the truth of it is, only 4 of them play at a time, unless you wanna stick a few in instead of some DB's, which would be fine with us.

I think App is poised to give your team a better game than you are expecting. I do not think Appalachian will win, but I will root my arse off for them. If our offensive line shows up to play (which we have several boys with experience), then LSU could be in for a really tight game. The game will be decided by ASU's offensive line and how well our zone blocking scheme's are run against your d-line and linebackers. If they can protect for 5 or 6 consecutive plays on a drive, your front 4 won't be able to sub out because of the no-huddle and the advantage goes to App.

Your starters played into the 4th quarter......

31-0 isn't a blow out - but it's a whopping.

App's skill position starters exited the game PRIOR to LSU's starters early in the 4th quarter on word that Furman had lost their game, putting us in the driver's seat to have the outright conference title should we win out.

The game is not irrelevant because it gave a few of the seniors on this current team experience in playing in tiger stadium, and if they didn't play, they at least know the atmosphere. Same can be said for our coaches.

No, many starters did not return after the 2nd quarter, I was just making a point that we called the dogs off very early in the game.

Good point about the Freshmen getting PT, but no matter what anyone says, garbage time against 2's and 3's after 1/3 of the stadium has gone back to drinking isn't going to be the same as Aug 30.

The visitors section is in the lower south endzone, the east corner. I am in the upper south endzone, about in the middle, maybe 7 rows up. So if I threw a cup of ice over it might land on you.

They also put visitors in the east upper deck. That's probably what you heard about being spread out. But it's not done to spread you out, it's so more of you can go to the game. We will only give up a quarter of the south endzone for visiting fans. The rest goes to our season ticket holders.

i have heard we might have 4-6,000 at the game.

But as of now, our band of 325 will not be there unless some big donors come through.

Appalachian agreed to getting more tickets to the game in exchange for having their fans dispersed throughout tiger stadium. My understanding of it is we were able to secure more tickets from LSU if chose to spread our fans out, thus allowing more of our faithful to attend the game. With the win at Michigan last year, App knew they needed as many tickets as they could possibly get for LSU this year.

Let's see him do that in the 3rd and 4th quarter after having the no huddle run on him all game........

The point I am making is that your team cannot substitute nearly as much against the no huddle offense and if we can put together a few successful plays against your fully energized defensive line, they will slow down and tire from having to run the no huddle with few substitution opportunities.

And my point would be that we can switch out all 4 D-linemen every other possession, IF that becomes a problem. And there will be very little drop off on talent. What's your answer to that? Depth, a beautiful thing!
