His views currently do not align with mainstream America, which he does not try to hide (just search his social media page, which is public) I don't think he cares what everyone else thinks, he stands for what he personally believes, even when the vast majority do not agree with his stance. I just don't see how LSU could take a PR hit like this with all that is happening right now. But from a purely on-court basketball point of view he obviously is one of the best ever in college.

Yay.
He, is by far, the most exciting LSU player of my lifetime and outside of Pistol he probabaly is the 2nd most excting player in lsu history.
An argument can be made that he is the 2nd best player in lsu history.
Shaq's nba career may put him above CJ thoigh for some people.

NOPE.

From what i understand, the same people vote on jersey retirements for all sports.
The next name up should be Kevin Faulk.
Chris Jackson deserved to have his jersey retired. The dipshit he became does not. If his jersey is retired, i think it would only be fair if everyone turned their back to him and did not cheer for him during the ceremony.

Its not like he committed a crime.

I do agree that Faulk shouod have his jersey retired though. His decision to stay home started the process of restorung lsu to greatness.

I will not support him for not standing for the national anthem like he did in Denver and for his anti American statements.

so people who are upset that he publicly disrespected our great nation are "reactionary assholes?"

Reasonable people can have different opinions - why the name-calling?

Yay.

Agree with your comments and you mentioned a couple of things I hadn't heard previously.

I met him after his freshman year at Red's in Lafayette and he was really cool with all of the kids. I think he's a gentle soul and it must have been difficult to face the wrath of the mob mentality (who didn't fully understand his situation and personality).

What the hell does his religion have to do with his play at lsu?
Just for the sake of this argument, do you know shaq is muslim?

Every time someone mentions Chris Jackson on this board, it flares up with these moronic posts about how he's sort of good, sort of bad. If you ask me, his willingness to do just a tiny little bit to stand up for what he believes in shows how much character he has. He has just a little more balls than assholes who can only make their opinions known behind the anonymity of a keyboard.

He is the second greatest player in LSU basketball history. His jersey absolutely and positively should be retired, if retiring jerseys is about honoring the all-time great players in a particular sport.

Leave your bullshite uninformed opinions about his character at the door.

frickING THIS.

We get it. Jackson is your hero. Shaq has never disrespected his country. Shaq has always represented and supported LSU since he graduated. Never have heard anything about Jackson representing LSU since he left. JMO. Same as you can have yours. Could care less about changing your mind, and you won't change mine

At what point did you assume i cared about changing your mind? I prefer to let the ignorant remain ignorant so that we know who they.
You said you didnt want a muslim representing lsu without knowing shaq is muslim.
