I understand that Alabama should be #1 because they are the defending National Champion, but, watching them lose 3 games this year is going to be pretty fun.
As for Texas, new QB, new OL, new WR's, no running game......good luck Garrett Gilbert in holding on to that #5 ranking.

Understood, but as useless as the preseason polls are, it's a starting point. It shows you how much work certain teams have to do during the season to climb.
As much to SFP's dismay, if Boise runs the table, we all know what's going to happen. If you want to admit it or not.

they might get the ap nod but the bcs computers will never allow them to play for a title.

Their only real chance is having another season like '07 where everybody has 2 losses. Or have both Oregon State and Virginia Tech go 11-1 and win the Pac 10 and ACC respectively.

The coaches poll is 19. Which is the only poll that really counts. AP doesn't figure into BCS.
