Considering Kathy tore Kiya apart while she got a 10 and then doesn’t say a single negative thing about Thomas’ and she gets a lower score sums up the announcing pretty well

The college gym page is tearing LSU apart with these scores.

These comments are hilarious. The Kathy hate is cracking me up. Love it! Good meet for the Tigers.

I'm proud of this team this week. We are heavily reliant on true freshmen, limited depth and we went out and scored well.

Was not expecting a win but this was much needed. Badly.

Praying Kiya's achilles settles down this week and hopefully Edwards injury is just a sprain.

Agree! The freshmen are amazing. Gonna only get better as the year goes on.

What did she say? It looks like she took it down.

She made a comment on twitter on a video of Maggie Nichols getting a 10 from one judge with a wobble.

Video

NCAA judging across the board is incompetent.

But whats sad about the commentating is Trinity gets a 10 and they spend a bunch of time praising and talking about it. Kiya gets 10 on beam and Kathy says absolutely nothing about it after. Just went on to Campbell's routine.

I figured that’s what it was about based on her feed history but I wonder what her delivery was

The thing I wonder about judging (mostly bc I’m not sure how it’s done and haven’t seen score cards), are the two judges scoring the same criteria? Or are each focused on two different things? For example: one looks for balance, extension, etc. And the other looks for toe point, body position, etc. I honestly don’t know.

There are requirements for each event composition for the gymnast to meet. The judges have to consider bonus points in routines in order to determine a start score. They both judge the same routine. Issue is one judge may be more lenient on a mistake than another. One may take .05 of a point, another .10 for a certain mistake. One judge may say the gymnast did not connect two skills together while the other one says they did. These things are all subjective.

Issue has gotten worse over the years. No one knows how to accurately deduct anymore. With the addition of all these new rules and requirements, we are seeing wider ranges of scores.

In the Michigan meet another day, one judge went 9.9 on beam while another one went 9.70.

My favorite was the comment about how great a Florida routine was after the inconvenient delay caused by Sarah's injury.

Duh.

True.

While they judge the same routine, this makes me think they are focused on different elements of the routine. But again, I haven’t seen a scorecard so I wouldn’t know. That’s just the only reasonable explanation I can come up with.

What an incredible meet, and LSU was on fire during the first two rotations. Those seniors brought IT! What else is there to say about Kiya? I just can’t believe what she is doing as a freshman. I am worried about Sarah. It looked like achilles to me and I pray I’m wrong.

Florida looked great, and to me looked like the best team in the country. And I HATE to say this, but their gymnastics is more enjoyable than boring OU with their ugly arse squat landings and cheating every code they can.
