On this board bitching some would complain if they won the power ball not enough money . That's is the nature of the beast in sports and life especially LSU.

how do you know this? Did O tell you or state it in a news conference or post somewhere I can find it?

Here ya go, Sport

Do you feel you lost any ground in the search process and the length that it took?

“I wasn’t worried about that. I just wanted to bring the best coach for LSU – whatever time it took. If I had to wait until after the bowl, I was going to do it. But when Matt showed up — someone gave me his name; I researched him. When the timing was right, we interviewed him. It was time.”

quote:

How did (Canada) become one your top candidates?

“Just research. I had my top candidates in order. Through research and development.”

quote:

How did you first hear about him?

“Just researching and development – who’s the top offensive coordinators out there. I went through a list.”

quote:

Can you say originally who put (Canada) on your radar?

“I was doing some research – who is the best offensive coordinator, who is the guys that were having the most success.”

Canada wasn't in the binder. O had never heard of him. Once Kiffin was out, someone gave his name to O, and he was placed on a list. Word for word what I told you happened. In Os own words

I haven't heard much bitching. Maybe some tempered expectations here and there, and perhaps rightfully so with as much as we've been through with the LSU offense. Some people just like to create the narrative though to validate their feelings about the O hire. LSU fans bitched about hiring the worst coach in Ole Miss history. LSU fans are happy with this OC hire. That's the reality, so no, there aren't many fans just bitching for the sake of bitching.

I wish Desean Smth had another year with Canada, he would go ape shite in that offense .

I agree D Smith would have 40 catches in Canada's offense, however Caleb Roddy, Jamal Pettigrew and Foster Moreau should battle for PT and all be ready

Briles is an unbelievable offensive minded coach, but at this point, it would be a huge risk to hire him.

Sark, although his issues are not on the same planet as Briles, he's still a risk.

Kiffin was never going to turn down a head coach position, and who can blame him.

I'm just watching the show, and liking what I see. With the talent we have and the hiring of very well respected offensive mind like Coach Canada, I see really great things in LSU's future, and that won't be lost on the recruits either, especially as time goes on.

Whoever is upset at this hire just chooses to remain in misery. It's where they feel most comfortable, and there are just people in this world who think like that in everything in life.

My only concern with Canada is the possible short tenure. Guy has explicitly stated (and already interviewed) that he wants to be a head coach somewhere- and a head coach soon. Wouldn't be surprised if he's gone after one season, which could actually set the offense back going forward- IMO

Saw it mentioned a few times that this wasn't a "sexy" hire like Aranda was. Based one what? The guy is on fire and the only OC up for the Broyles award. That sounds pretty "sexy" to me.
