Wait did BR lose power? I havent heard that the area was hit that hard? Yes? No?
I would say over 80% of Baton Rouge lost power. Some parts kept it.
But basically 100% of Ascension and Livingston Parish residents lost power. So the greater Baton Rouge area was heavily affected in terms of down trees and power outages.

When is the other storm supposed to hit. I know a few days ago they were saying there’s another disturbance in the gulf that’s coming around Labor Day that’s a week before the opener . It’s a ways out though so who lmows
models arent showing that anymore.

Maybe they can move it to McNeese
Would LSU even entertain this? McNeese's stadium holds less than 20k people. I'm not sure how that would work since you couldn't just say "anyone who has a ticket gets into the game." There wouldn't be enough seats.
I'd love it though. LC would explode if that happened.

I would also guess that a LOT of people from Louisiana are going to be cancelling their trip to Cali for the UCLA game.
Pretty sure I'm in this boat. Currently evacuated. No water or power at home. Not sure when we'll be able to get back. Holding out hope, but not looking very likely at this point. A lot of people have it way worse than I do though, so I'll count my blessings if all I lose from this situation is an LSU road trip.

i think it would depend. They are not going to want to cancel, they will want to make as much as possible so it depends if they can get something else lined up first.
with Eds relationship with Frank and his son being on the team ETC.....wouldnt surprise me at all.

Moving it anywhere would be a logistical and ticketing nightmare. Thankfully, the game is two weekends away. Things in BR might be noticeably improved by then. In all likelihood, they'll just cancel the game and cut McNeese a check.

Baton Rouge was largely spared of catastrophic damage. A large portion of the LSU area never lost power. If the game doesn't go as planned, it's due to stress on emergency services around the state, not the current condition of Baton Rouge and the LSU area.

also for those not from LC...McNeese stadium still does not have lights. All McNeese home games this year are at NOON. Talk about the bitching the fan base would do if LSU moved TO McNeese for a NOON kickoff.

if lsu has power, i think game will be on so long as it doesnt stress services too much.
UT was 4 weeks after katrina i believe.

I am hoping for NRG, purely for selfish reasons but if I had to bet I would guess they just cancel

Agree. I think a lot of folks in BR are going to be pleasantly surprised how quickly things feel relatively normal. Hotels can be an issue when many folks are displaced but McNeese won't need any. They always bus in, bus out to save money.

I don't think they are canceling. Last year hurt everyone's pocketbook. Don't think they will be quick to cut McNeese a check and call it a day.

I’ve been looking at Entergy to see when my power is back and and there is a good chunk of BR that has power and we are a day removed from it hitting. The first home game will be just fine
