First of all, Paul Mainieri is anything but the "wait for the three run homer" guy. We griped most of the year because he bunted too much. Against UCLA, there was only one opportunity to bunt, the ninth inning. I bet Mainieri would like that decision back.

But the UNC game falls squarely on the shoulders of not hitting with runners in scoring postion. We had many chances to score, we just blew it.

Yep, hitters were perfect. We scored 1 run. We should always win games that we don't get shut out.

Agreed... We should have beat UCLA but we deserved to lose against UNC

I know what you mean, but I hate this type of statement. Hate. It.

I love how because one small ball team makes it to the cws championship series, it means small ball is the ideal way to play in that park

Can Paul entertain fans with a CWS Championship Series appearance?

If we don't commit the two routine errors, we win 1-0.

We never deal with UNC IMO, and we beat a Rodonless State.

We were fricked the minute we lost the first game.

Ha. inoright?

LSU had opportunities and shite the bed. UCLA just seems to be able to capitalize on every single one of theirs no matter how rare they are. Which is why I say, if they win, they'll have deserved it.

And I want to say, we commited the errors. We lost.

But UCLA doesn't score if we didn't frick up. That loss with Nola fricked the team IMO.

And if Katz doesn't make one good swing it's still 0-0.

The defense booted two balls. The offense had about 16 terrible at bats. I'm not blaming the loss squarely on the defense.

I will. A throw from a great defensive catcher to first base wide by 4'.

Bregmen ole'ing a routine grounder.

That's it.

1-0 should have stood up against the shite UCLA lineup, and it would have.

1-0, eh? Force the defense to be perfect? Why not blame Nola, the guy that scored run #2 reached base with a hit?

If my team only scores 1 run, I expect to lose that game 97% of the time.

Yea. I'm not sure if you understand the 2 runs weren't earned.

Not at all.

Holds up without allowing a run. You act like the games at the CWS have been 10-6 games. Pay attention.

With Nola dealing against a shite line up, I expect 1-0 to win 90% of the time. And we do without the routine errors. I wouldn't call the plays 'putting pressure on the D' in the slightest.

Thank you, Josh. LSU doesn't need to change their approach.

LSU's inability to hit with runners in scoring position came back to kill them.

It would be a huge mistake for Mainieri to go back to coaching like he did in 2011.

He overreacted to the bat change and it hurt LSU. Hopefully he doesn't overreact to the 0-2 and change everyone's approach.

If LSU doesn't have any errors against UCLA they probably win and advance pretty far in the CWS and no one says a word about small ball.

Well, the team just didn't play it's best when it should have. You really can't blame anyone but the guys who didn't come through, and there were a lot of them.

MSU on the other hand has been pretty clutch late in this CWS when it had to be. LSU's talent finally let it down.

I respectfully disagree with this. I, for one, would've still complained about the current state of CWS ball. And Peterson, Shatel, and others have no dog in this fight, and still complained. Power hitting should be a part of the game at the CWS, and it's not now.

I agree. We lost, and losing the first game was a blow not expected.

I'm over it, but it just sucks to have the season we had and just fall apart. Even though both games were right there.

Atleast we didn't frick up like Vandy though.

I'll remember the Nola vs Grey game forever,
