He's a .500 coach in a conference in which half the schools don't even try to field a competitive team.

Lmmfao. Where do you get your misinformation!?! Lmao.

With a record of 21-9 in Pac-12 contests, the Wildcats handily secured a winning conference record. Arizona's 21 Pac-12 wins are five more than the previous Jay Johnson era record of 16 wins the 2016 and 2017 teams captured. The Wildcats will have posted a winning Pac-12 record for the fourth time in five tries under coach Johnson. Prior to his arrival in 2016, Arizona had finished above .500 in conference play three times in 10 years.
Dude is going to rake at lsu.

28 major league draft picks in his short time there
Led Arizona to 49 wins in his first season, the second-most in program history

2015 Mountain West Coach of the Year
Led Nevada to 41 wins in 2015 (second-most in program history).
Won school’s first-ever Mountain West Conference championship in 2015.
Nevada finished 2015 top-five nationally in batting and scoring.
Helped USD make six postseason trips from 2006-13.

Led PLNU to a 37-14 record as head coach in 2005. Previously worked as an assistant and led program to NAIA World Series in 2004.
His teams knock the cover off the ball. Ended Ole Miss Season this year .

Maybe we can do better, but we could do a lot worse.

Watching alot of this stuff, seems similar to PM kn alot of ways. Both are short, both played 2nd base, both want high character guys, both seem adamant on the players getting good grades.
Difference is johnson seems more technical when it comes to hitting and develop and process oriented
