I think he comes off as more worried about winning with his lack of action yesterday. Thoughts?
My thoughts are
A. He is a football coach, so I hope he is more worried about winning;
B. To any extent that Miles has a duty to form these "kids" as "men" I think its highly questionable that the best thing for a young man who has made a mistake, or two, is to be kicked out off the one thing that is the most likely to keep him on track in life; and
C. Where does the principle come from that a football coach should be held to some higher standard than a university? If a kid is allowed to attend a flagship university, under what principle should he not be allowed to play football for the same university?

I think the plan is to hold him out for a couple of games but if injuries happen now we can still call on him rather than officially going on record saying he is suspended for 2/3/4 games and not having that luxury. If I was running the business it's what I would do if I felt it was enough to get Hill on the right track. Miles knows Hill better than us, so I'll trust his instincts as a dad of sorts in this situation to know whether its enough to get Hill on the right track.

Paul Allen is a troll. He stated earlier in this thread that he doesn't even watch college football anymore, but he is spewing his ignorance on a LSU football message board. Makes total sense huh?

If he starts Hill in the TCU game... I WILL lose ALOT of respect for him...........

Yes. It started during the NC game with Bama. If our Dutchtown local with a criminal record can go to Alabama and not get into anymore trouble, then yes. Les obviously can't handle the kids as well as "other" coaches.

That's the first time hill has gotten in trouble at LSU. If coaches kicked players off teams for fighting or equal offenses byu would be a powerhouse

I lost some. I personally think its gamesmanship for the TCU game and he doesn't play for the first two games or so, which I think would be adequate punishment.
But to use this for gamesmanship purposes to me is bush league. Kid did wrong, he should have to pay by missing games. That's what players want to do, play games. Kid doesn't give a frick that he missed a team meeting in June. He wants to suit up for TCU. If he gets to do that, he'll have it perfect: No tough off-season work AND you get to play a big game on national TV.
No punishment whatsoever.
This stuff about being "punished" by not getting to do team activities is a bunch of malarkey. It's not like he doesn't talk to the players. They all talk about what they've said to him.
And if he dresses out for the TCU game, I'll lose a TON of respect.

Hell, and even BYU would lose a few players every so often.

quote:I have never been a big Miles fan, but look at the facts. Jeremey Hill got a blow job at his high school while he was a senior, he was not a part of the program. The only thing he has done is sucker punch a drunk in parking lot.
That changed for me some with him not laying out some form of suspension yesterday.

Miles says---frick you and your respect because Hill will dress and play for TCU.
Get over yourself.

Let's change Miles to "Saban." Let's change "Hill" to (name an Alabama star who gets in hypothetical legal trouble). And let's change TCU to LSU.
You'd be at the front of the line in outrage.
Lots of hypocrisy going on on this thread. There are plenty who would be outraged if the shoe was on the other foot. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are some on here who would be equally OK with it if we were talking about Saban and TJ Yeldon. (and I'd still disagree with you).
But most of you would want to throw Yeldon under the jail and would think Saban doesn't have an ethical bone in his body because of it.
C'mon, admit it. You know it's true.
